Been laid off for 16 months now;working in my home auto shop for cash. Has been tough but have managed to keep the home and property from being loss.
A former friend from work (also laid off) asked me to come to work for him at a company he had been working for since June 09.
Had a very good interview and expecting an offer. Not as much money as previous job, but unemployment ran out for me today, so anything above $0 is acceptable...LOL
Job will require me to travel extensively throughout the US. Not thrilled about this requirement but I have to do it to put meat and 'taters on the table.
I'm winding up some repairs in the shop in anticipation of getting the job. Will not take on anymore work for others and limit my repairs to families aging fleet and maybe inlaws.....
Hope others are starting to find more opportunities for work.
Sure has been tough but learned a lot about myself and surviving the past 16 months.
