You ran out of creativity? :bounce:

Believe me, I know just where you're coming from on this one!

The garage/theatre looks great though. My wife and I originally wanted to do something very similar to what you have done, but the bids that came back were cost prohibitive so we scaled our project back a bit.

Again, excellent job!

Regards,

Stan

Dangit! You earned it once, now you can earn it again without the mistakes so it will be quicker.

Hey Utah997...If one of your neighbors puts their house up for sale, please let me know. My first project will be building a tunnel into yours. I will gladly pay you rent for the facilities.

Well Mr Utah, I am without words.......

I am one of the "lurkers" on here that read rather than post, as I do not have the disposable income to undertake something of this magnitude. I very much appreciate you sharing your project to serve as inspiration to others, or as a source of fantasy to someone like myself.

I generally stick to the welding related forums as it is my chosen trade, but I saw a link to this forum some time ago and signed up. You, and many others, make me very thankful that I have.

I am saddened somewhat that I missed the wonderful details in the "deleted" posts, but can more than understand why.

I would never have dreamt such a thing as possible... Thanks to this thread - now I know it is. I come to these forums to broaden my understanding of what can be accomplished. Projects like this are not done where I am from, but now I have something else to turn my imagination loose on....

I'm off again to my welding forums, but just wanted to post a note of "Thanks" to you for sharing your project.

Have a Good Day

If you need 3ph power and don't have it you can make your own.
http://www.patchn.com/ click on articles then electrical then 3 phase from single phase.
While he uses a washer motor to get it rolling you can use capacitors and run caps to smooth it out. A friend uses this for his overhead crane, metal lathe, chop saw and welder.

So now I see the reason for the 997 in you screen name. Nice job on the project. So do you think you over-built for the neighborhood? I bet you are planning to live there forever, but after your forever, what a unique piece of property... I say that because I had thoughs about overbuilding at my house. How many people need or want a custom built 2000 sq ft house with a 1200 sq ft garage??? Just thinking out loud, I plan to sell and build one more house at the beach when I retire.

Are you medicated to cope with confusion that arises when you're choosing which car to drive?

lol.. More often than not I drive the 911. It's a great daily driver, but I have driven the Ferrari alot this summer.. it's still a novelty and hard to resist. When the snow flies, I switch over to the land rover discovery II...

So what is the reason?

The 997 in the garage - That's Porsches designation for that model 911.

Utah, I don't blame you for driving the Porsche. Those are excellent drivers. Its the only "exotic" that has daily driver reliability. You couldn't do that with a Ferrari or a Lamborghini

That model is actually the 996.

The "997" number is just part of an old phone number...

We had a 1974 911 a couple years ago and I fell in love with the way it drove and ran. It just couldn't pass a gas pump 13mpg.

It definitely made me a better driver than I really am. Cheers  to you for managing to have the toys several of us aspire to own just one of. I'm in awe of your toys and the glimpses we've seen of your home. Our home is considered a showplace by my buddies but it pales in comparison to what we've seen of yours.
