Im in the market for a cordless 3/8 impact gun. I recently stumbled across impact drivers while on my search for one . My question is can they be used to break stuff loose as well as tighten things down. Im aware of there low torque applications but can they still break stuff loose like a regular cordless 3.8 impact wrench . http://www.makita.com/menu.php?pg=product_det&tag=BTD142HW
I came across that gun in my local home depot and man its like holding a feather at 2.8 lbs. This one claims to have around 100ft. lbs of torque after doing the math which isnt bad but is that breakaway torque or nut running torque ???
I was gonna buy it but was afraid it wont have the breakaway torque as say something like this http://www.makita.com/menu.php?pg=product_det&tag=6933FDWDE
