Hello,
I just started working at a small repair shop and am trying to put together a descent tool box of my own, the boss has tons of HF tools scattered all over the shop so I don't have to have my own tools, but I would like to have access to what I need when I need it without wandering the shop searching. Plus I know that having a proper tool for a task will save me lots of time and frustration every day.
As I stated the shop is littered with HF tools from end to end so I don't want to bring in an expensive set and end up with everything "borrowed" and missing. I had a small pail of sockets from cheap tool kits of the past that I sorted through to put together useful socket rails of shallow 1/4 and 3/8 drive mm and sae plus a 1/2 drive sae. I also bought a combo wrench set for cheap that goes up to 7/8 and 19mm. I have a couple of stubby 1/4, 3/8 combo drive ratchets a double jointed 3/8 flex ratchet and a basic ratchet in 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2. I have my own misc small pliers, and a couple of screwdrivers. So the bottom line is I'd like to buy a few things I'm missing, or if someone can put together a kit for me I'd buy duplicates of what I already have in order to just make one purchase. I don't need tool truck tools, and don't have the money for them if they're offered. I may eventually end up rounding out my tool set from HF but I would rather have different branded tools in order to make it easier to pick mine out and put them away when we finish up a project. I have use of a small tool cart, but plan to buy a small HF rolling tool box in order to properly organize and store my tools as I get a more complete selection.
Here's the breakdown of what I'd like to buy if I can get a good deal. I'm also open to suggestions from experienced mechanics, and sets as I mentioned.
There's a lot more stuff that I could use, but right now I'm not looking to invest that much money into this job, at least not until I've made some more money at it first.
Thanks
