I thought the inside was always going to be a work in progress, now I understand ...It's ALL a work in progress...
Not up to par with most of the garages, but still enjoyable. And I built it myself
BTW....the two garages shown above Stump & Shrine) are two of my favorites. The vertical siding really sets them apart from a lot of others.![]()
Started building just about exactly 2 years ago. Still have some concrete pads and walkway I want to pour around on the outside, but it's basically done. The inside still needs the floor tile and ceiling tile installed (hopefully be done with that by this fall). Outside dimensions are 20x22.

Old Moparz......I like! Very creative.

30 x 50 x 12 with a 10x10 "cutout" that will eventually be screened in. Inside is a 10x10 bathroom/storage closet and a 10x10 kitchen area. 20x10 loft above kitchen and bath. Still working on the inside touches like paint an more osb on the walls.
Heres a glimpse of the front one day when I was moving everything around.
The shop is 40 by 135 feet

I had always wanted to design & build my own house, but 20 years ago, my wife was terrified over tackling such a huge project while we both commuted over 1 hour each way to work. We managed to find one less than 2 years old & bought it, but I did get to do the garage design, & built it with her back in 1997. She helped level the fill with me & some friends, helped set the twenty 6x6 posts in the ground, & then helped build some of the walls until they were too high for her to feel comfortable. (and to think she wanted to parachute when I met her....lol)
I planned on a one story, 2-1/2 car, but she said "You won't be happy with that, make it bigger." So I did.
Then she asked "Can we have a second floor?" So I added one.
The coolest thing is that she doesn't want to park in it because she hates wasting time opening & closing garage doors, or pulling in & out. I get to use all of it except for some junk up on the second floor.
It's an odd size because I had to position it between the rear property line & my septic system. The cedar on the front only to match the siding on the house, & the rest is all vinyl. All in total, including the 6" slab & the electric a friend did, I am into the entire building for just under $15,000 I think. The framing & roofing materials came from one lumber yard, but certain things I shopped around to get the best price on, like the 6x6 poles, the windows, the siding, & odds & ends.
Got to love the wife a bit more after this garage build.

I can't decide which I like more, the garage or the contents!![]()
Great looking build, what's going to be parked (toys) inside to share? Here is my pride and joy that I was just finished the exterior this week. Now I need to finish the interior and work on pulling all the electrical work together.
Its a 30x 36 with 14' ceilings and vertical cedar siding.
I am also really jealous of that grass, need to finish up my landscaping as well
