So I bought my first Snappy stuff recently, and I got say.....
They are so nice that I don't want to use them almost heh. I got a GS80, F80, 3/8 drive SAE deep, 3/8 metric deep and shallow, wrenches 1/4-1 1/4 all for about $700. The wifey got a tad annoyed at me, but she knew I was doing it ahead of time. Most of them are either unused and/or mint.

Yeah another tech was saying that he finally finished his snap on wrench set 8-30mm. He said he never uses them and uses his craftsman so they don't get scratched. I was like, why'd you buy them then?

Yeah, they're great and all, but I spent a lot of money on them so I could earn a living..........I use 'em and they show it. I intend to get every last cent I paid back out of them.

Tell her unless she wants to get whacked with that F80 she'll smile and compliment the tools, or else............

Dont know what your discretionary income is.......Dont know how your funding/investing in your future

I have a very good paying job, I have no wife, I have money to pixx away on shiny Snap On tools I dont need or use to make a living with.

Maybe your wife has reason to be annoyed.

Given all the other responsible things that most married men need to spend/save money for............it makes a good argument for buying CRAFTSMAN, GEARWRENCH, TOPTUL, GENIUS or many other brands new or used........

Gosh she wasn't really that annoyed, she just thinks the whole thing is silly. I can easily afford the tools I got. I have a box full of Caftsman and Gearwrench as well. I guess I won't share in my excitement... :(

I'll use 'em. I think I have the shiny new car syndrome currently is all. :) I was mostly just complimenting Snap-on on making such beautiful tools.

This post was entirely unnecessary. Who are you to comment on someone else's financial situation? You should keep things like this to yourself.

Only tools that I own that I think are to beautiful to use are Plomb pebble finish tools and thats only because I about 13 wrenches lined up in front of those to use.

Mr Wright, My comments were made as a generic opinion as to those people who buy tools at the expense of more important things to their families and their own well being.........

I'll remove my post now........

Snap-On tools are beautiful, I fully agree. I recently bought my first new SO ratchet, an S80. When it arrived (bought it online) I left it on my desk for a few days, thinking "How can I use it, it'll get scratched?" :lol_hitti

Silly I know, but hey, I appreciate nice things. Then it was time to change the fuel filter on my Cummins. It has not a lot of room to swing a big arc ratchet, and the S80 loosened it like a hot knife through butter, just a steady gentle movement. Ahhhhhh, nice. I even got diesel on it. :)

Congrats on a beautiful, and useful set of lifetime tools.

Yeah I use my snap on sockets, wrenches etc all the time. Like someone else said these make me money so why should I now use them??

I just recently bought a used set of SO stubby wrenches they were very good condition but had a few scratches. I am glad because that first scratch is always the hardest.

Yeah I think I may be getting an older 70's Dodge w200 4x4 to restore soon, and I can't WAIT to make that first turn! I've never been so excited about tools before. I must be getting old lol!

Don't worry bro, I didn't spend money I didn't need for something else. I don't smoke, drink or play golf, so I guess this is my replacement for that.

Loosing tools in another matter all together!

Especially in airplanes! One of the first things one of my instructors told me in A&P school was, "DONT engrave your tools. If an airplane goes down, because your tool got stuck in the flight controls..." Well, you get the idea. In all seriousness though, we learn more than anything about accountability, and responsibility. Part of this is keeping up with your sh*t. So you see such things as foam drawer inserts with pockets for each tool, etc..

When I was young I only played with one tool. Now I have a whole shop full of them.

I love 70's vintage trucks. That would be an awesome 4x4, and especially unique as there aren't a lot of 70's Dodges around. I always wanted a Fargo.

I had a 98 24V Cummins, now replaced by an 06 Mega Cab. I'm on the upgrade path with it, which is the excuse, uh, reason for some new tools. :D

This one is especially cool since it's a club cab with a long bed. They are REALLY hard to come by. I've only found 2 in the past 5 years. 1 was too expensive and had **** done to it that I didn't like. It still needed a restore as well. The other one had way too much cancer for my skills. This other one is owned by a friend, and I've been coveting it for years. He's moving soon and mentioned he might "work something out" with me.
