Re: My vinyl wall stripe experience and how-to tips

I know this is an older thread, but I had a question on installing the vinyl. I just ordered my vinyl.

Did you use a soapy water solution while installing to allow some adjustment, or did you do...

Re: The other costs of a porcelain/ceramic tile floor

Mark

Your cost should be pretty close to that. There are many different options that are similar to the ultra flex and each contractor has their favorites. They are latex/fortified and have a...

Re: The other costs of a porcelain/ceramic tile floor

If you are using a 12x12 tile over concrete, you would be in good shape with using Mapei's Ultra Flex II. If you want a slightly better bond, you could use their Ultra Flex LFT. It is made for...

Re: Cans or Fluorescents?

I know this older, but had a couple of questions, if you see this and don't mind.

Thanks for all the detailed info on this thread.

When installing the lights, do they just sit on the 2x2's you...

Thanks

Re: 30x40 Garage/Shop

Great build. Love it, and I am going to steal a few ideas.

I was wondering what the depth of the cabinets ended up being? I looked through but didn't see the measurement.

Thanks

Help with buried compressor line

I am planning on mounting my compressor in my shed and then running lines to the garage for the air. I have been looking at the Maxline and like the idea, but I was concerned about not being able to...

Re: Racedeck and pets?

I had the circle track with an older lab and she had no problem when wet. No experience with the free flow, but I would think it would be even safer.

Re: H&C Anyone have any experience with it?

I used that a couple of years back and wasn't impressed. It didn't hold up well and the finish wasn't very nice looking. Scratched very easily I did all of the prep work correctly.

It also...

Re: Racedeck flooring Question

I also used the free flow right over the drains in my garage. The slope is very slight, so there isn't any problems with it.

I will try and post some pics soon.

Re: Opinions on lift part

I am going to write up a thread on my dealings with buying the lift, but overall it was pretty much a an unpleasant experience to deal with them. I guess if you don't need anything from them other...

Opinions on lift part

So I bought an Atlas BP9000. After getting the columns mounted, we noticed that one of the mounting plates on the carriage had been flipped and welded incorrectly while being made. So I contacted...

Re: Finishing my garage

Garage looks great. And so does the Camaro. Seems very well thought out.

Do you have any pics or any info on the door tracks for the storage area? Not sure how they work.

Thanks

Re: Great Garage Makeovers

If anyone has their copy with them, could you post the mfg's link for the PVC ceiling write up they did? I left my copy at home and wanted to do a little digging today at work.

Thanks

Re: Shower Flooring

For the shower pan floor, I would recommend the schluter systems.

Re: Ceramic tile installation questions for the experts!

One piece at a time. You don't have to wait to do the seams. Make sure you use a latex/polymer modified thinset over the plywoood/ under the hardi-backer board.

Good luck

Re: Race Deck Insulation Question

I used a landscaping felt underneath. I figured moisture wouldn't bother it. I was concerned about the laminate underlayment dealing with moisture and spills.

Also, the free shipping is usually...

No. I have the same setup. No issues with pulling apart. In some areas the...

Re: H&C Shield-Crete or SW Tile-Clad or Other? HELP PLEASE!

I was not impressed with the Shield-Crete. Seemed to be more of a paint than epoxy. Wasn't happy with the finished product and didn't hold up well. I was very complete with my prep work. Just...

Re: click/clack problem with plastic tiles

I put down landscaping felt/fabric. Very thin and moisture won't bother it.

I laid out an area with and without and there was a big difference in noise. Hardly any with the felt.

Re: 24' ceramic floor tile

Porelain is definately more durable. There are some ceramics that are suitable, but porcelain overall is stronger and has a better glazing.
