Re: Where are your kids going to college + costs?

I went to Washington State Community college. $15k total for a 2 year associates degree. Automotive class sizes maxed out at 14 students. I would recommend it to anyone looking for automotive...

Re: Foot in the door at a dealership worth it?

$10/hr isn't enough. I make $15 hourly as a lube tech with no ASEs. I also do a little overflow work. Recalls, tires, brakes, squeaks, rattles, electrical, MIL diag, etc.

Re: Oops... [Graphic Injury Photo]

My dad cut his finger off with a table saw, as did my grandpa, and great-grandpa. So I steer clear of table saws as luck is not on my side.

Re: Is repairable a flooded new car?

Scrap it. Every inch of wires an any electrical componant is junk (airbags, wire, motors, modules, switches, lights, etc). Inside of the doors are going to rust out. Seats will rust from the inside...

Re: Top 5 Misconceptions about the Chevy Volt

Gas prices don't bother me. Currently getting 11.9MPG running 93 octane. It will be a cold day in Hell when I am forced to drive some sort of econobox.

Re: Window Tinting?

The amount is whatever the transmission level is. 5% is the darkest since only 5% or light can get through. 80% is barely anything because 80% of the light is still passing through. Believe me, I've...

Re: Window Tinting?

Ohio is 50% front. Troopers tend to get pissy when they pull me over since I am also a concealed carry permit holder. Although I don't carry most of the time, it still comes up when they run my...

Re: Window Tinting?

Depends on the state.

Both of my cars were measured. Both were illegal by ohio standards.

20% on top of factory (77%) which metered 14.2%. Light colored interior.

Re: Top 5 Misconceptions about the Chevy Volt

Hey, we sold our first volt. Only had it since 2011 (2012 model). Going to suck since warranty just now is active and the customer that bought it is a PITA. He also owns a couple corvettes.

Re: Change pads and rotors in 30 minutes?

Not going to get quality, but I can replace pads and rotors in less than 15 minutes if you want me to. All air tools, nothing torqued, no clean up. I would say doing things right, it takes about 45...

Re: I Want to Buy a Fast Car.....

Just on the 1-2 shift? With traction control on, my G8 will bark tires on 1-2, 2-3, and sometimes 3-4 shift.
