Re: garage stereo - ideas or post your setup

I have 6.1 surround sound and a 55 inch TV in my garage. I had to buy a new receiver for my home theater because my old one doesn't have HDMI switching so I rotated it out to the garage. If anyone...

Everyone has crazy inventive heating ideas, what about crazy inventive COOLING ideas?

Just curious if anyone has any crazy inventive passive cooling ideas other than lots of insulation and efficient AC systems.

Earth tubes, Venturi vents, or stuff I haven't thought about?

Re: Spray foam insulation under roof decking

I sure wish someone could break it down for what I would need in Orlando. I find that everyone is so concerned about snow and ice that none of the designs apply to me or my climate.

I was going...

Re: Garage 2.0 - Building a Triple

Re: HF 20 ton press failure

Harbor freight is a great alternative for renting tools. I love that place.

You get 3 uses before they break though. Keep that in mind.

Re: Mini Split Mold Issues?

It has a drying mode where it runs the fan with the vents closed to dry it out.

Not sure if this helps or not.

Mini Split Mold Issues?

My mini-split appears to have some mold issues going on. Not sure what to make of it to be honest, but I am seeing some specs of mold on the plastic vent areas.

Granted I am in the South and we...

Re: 3 way Switch--How can I get circuit to be "off" when both switches down?

Oh, and check out the LED 3-way light switch that lights up when the light is on, no matter what position the switch is in.

I never could remember to turn off my outside garage lights.

Re: Air Line Layout - Guidance Needed!

I know its expensive, but other than that, is there anything wrong with good old fashioned copper with sweat connections?

Re: whats the point of a nice floor

My epoxy has at least 6 years on it now. It still looks great. Professionally installed, and they installer is the most important part of the mix.

Hell, my floor even heals when I dent it. Not...

Re: Garage is a disaster....Need some advice.

I moved all my lawn equipment/fertilizer/pesticides/gas to a small Rubbermaid shed that's only about 4 feet tall on the side of the house. Definitely helps to keep the garage cleaner.

Re: To Lift or Not to Lift? That is the question.

Height is not really an issue for me. The ceiling steps up to 11' at the back of the garage. So if I back one car into the lift, then I can slide another car underneath it and still have a few...

To Lift or Not to Lift? That is the question.

So I need some insight on a question that I have been contemplating for a while now.

My friend has a lift that I have used many times and so I guess I like it. They are downsizing and selling off...

Re: Best way to clean up dirty engines/transmissions?

This sounds like a great idea, however they only throw transmission cases in there, they don't throw the guts in the "cooker" as it would destroy all the seals.

I just sounded like an idiot...

Re: Best way to clean up dirty engines/transmissions?

No, I flipped them upside down and filled them to the top with fresh RP.

Re: Best way to clean up dirty engines/transmissions?

The short answer is because they go with the cars. Transmissions have VIN numbers on them that match the car's VIN number. So I have upgraded the cars to 6 speed Getrag manuals and these are all 5...

Re: Best way to clean up dirty engines/transmissions?

He was referring to the dollies pictured. They are 7 bucks at harbor freight and awfully handy.

Re: Best way to clean up dirty engines/transmissions?

That is the 17k mile transmission. The 200k transmission is much dirtier.

I want them all to look sparking clean.

Re: Best way to clean up dirty engines/transmissions?

When I say clean, I mean sparking clean so I can put them on the carpet and not stain it.

Re: Epoxy Floor Prep - PVC Primer and 2 Stroke Oil

I spilled that pvc primer on the epoxy coating and it stained it purple and there is no getting that color out.

Anyone ever gotten the stain out of epoxy?

Best way to clean up dirty engines/transmissions?

I have a lot of spare transmissions, so I was thinking I should just clean them up and use them for table legs or end tables or something. Sounds silly, I know, but I don't want to sell them and...
