I figured the auto reverse would still work if it was set up on the correct side. But yeah- the the manual release is gone. Hadn't considered that.

Used office lateral file cabinets are tough to beat for price/looks -if you can use roomy drawers for lots of stuff. Several threads regarding file cabinets here.

I has the same issue and just cut the rail at an angle. Not sure how easy it is to see in the photo, but you can barely notice it when sliding your hand down it.

Just like Wingnut65, a circular saw is all that is really needed. I did use the miter saw for the 2x2s and the table saw for a dado in the 1x2 pine trim on the edges.
