Re: Old Rockwell Delta drill press

I have that same drill press. It's worth what ever a new drill press of that size is worth and probably more as long as the spindle is not bent. Not much else to go wrong that can't be easily fixed...

I had these aluminum blocks left over from another project so I drilled them each to fit 3 taps and the proper tap drill for 75% thread. No more searching for the right tool, life's too short.

Re: Skylight tubes

I have 5 of them in my shop. I've had leaks around 2 of them. No fault of the light tubes, the installation is not done right. The problem is with a metal roof they are very difficult to seal. No...

Re: Are you really happy?

Define happy. Ok, 10 years old, 1st morning of summer vacation, no job, no responsibilities. Well not many. Now that was about as happy as I've ever been. A close second was the first time I cracked...

Re: Anyone have trigger thumb or frozen shoulder?

I've had both. Trigger fingers from over use and abuse. The cure is to rest your hands, in other words no pulling wrenches, no hammers etc. I had a torn rotator cuff. Just kept using it and it...

Re: Work / Beater Cars, What Do You Like, And Why

+1 on the 4 cyl Camry and Volvo 240s. Both cars have non interference engines. Takes less than an hour to change the belt in a 240 Volvo. Both will run forever. The Volvo is cheap and easy to fix....

Re: Any VOLVO drivers here ?

I'm afflicted with Volvos. A '83 wagon, '85 GL and a '93. They seem to run forever, easy to work on. Parts are cheap.

Re: What size Service did you run to your shop

I ran 200 amps to my new shop but I ran my old shop on a 60 amp breaker from the house. Never had a problem in 10 years that I was there. I ran a 5 horsepower 220 v compressor, an old transformer...
