Re: 72-year-old couple building a barn (garage/workshop)

Can't believe I didn't get that. Must have been on more dope than I knew about.
Second procedure seems to have done well. Had to spend the night in Lil Rock because the procedure was scheduled for...

Re: 72-year-old couple building a barn (garage/workshop)

I may be still a little out of it from the stuff they put me out with, so I had Lin read it also. She didn't get it either.

Been to Pagosa Springs...

Re: 72-year-old couple building a barn (garage/workshop)

This was my first time at splitting rails and doing that kind of a fence. So definitely no expert on the subject. Like you, I didn't think that, without mechanical help, I could do it either. However...

Re: 72-year-old couple building a barn (garage/workshop)

You are right on with your measurements.
Would have liked to have used 10 foot spacing which would have made it, 30x40, but the land wouldn't accept it. Would have required a move of the septic...

Re: 72-year-old couple building a barn (garage/workshop)

Well this kinda sucks. I got the fence done, a new A/C- heat pump in the house, and a whole bunch of other stuff out of the way. The idea was to get back to work on the barn. Even the weather was...

Re: 72-year-old couple building a barn (garage/workshop)

The fence is done.
All that is left is a little clean up of the old one. We burnt all the scrap yesterday before the snow came in. Yeah right, four inches of snow, two days after the first day of...

Re: 72-year-old couple building a barn (garage/workshop)

Thanks everyone, glad you have enjoyed the fence. I need to put up 15 more rails to finish it. The last 10 rails I had to split out of some pretty knarly logs. Ken says he has more if I need them,...

Re: 72-year-old couple building a barn (garage/workshop)

No, it was harder for Abe, because he was way taller than me. I'm closer to the log.

Deep snow, in Arkansas! Hope not.

Re: 72-year-old couple building a barn (garage/workshop)

Update and some pictures of the progress on the fence.

I have another 85 feet up and finished. That means I need to go about another 50 feet. We clean the gutter below the fence and cut the growth...

Just a quick little update, to let you know we are still alive and kicking.

Too cold to stain and clear coat, so we thought we would address the issue of the two rail fence. The termites were...
