Re: Valuation of an extra detached garage

Hi Dan_Babb:

I agree with the idea to move the garage behind the house, solves some problems - as long as you have enough room to back cars out without cutting things too tight. Give that some...

Re: Fire Extinguisher Info

Amazing - You Too! I was grilling steaks on our Jenn-Air. It is the type with the exhaust fan built into the top. The exhaust fan however was too strong, and drew too much heat off the grill - so it...

Re: Fluke 115 vs. Extech 505

Not usually - milliamps is about as small as you need for automotive work. Most digital readouts on meters will get you down to 1/10 or 1/100 of an amp. For really small current flows in an auto -...

Re: Streamlight Stylus Pro Flashlight Review

At $16.68 with free shipping - you might as well order 3 or 4. You know you're going to lose one or two. {wife, family, friends all seem to walk off with them}.

Actually many of the higher quality...

Re: ACCEL 300+ Ratcheting wire crimpers...horrible results?

Very Interesting Thread. Learned a lot and watched a lot of UTube video's. YouTube might turn out to be the best addition to our education system in decades.

Re: Fluke 115 vs. Extech 505

Working in a Garage - an auto garage - you would need/use milliamps / millivolts quite often trouble shooting auto electronics.

Of course for that - you don't need to spend Big Money on a meter....

Re: What's it worth?

They can ASK anything they want - go offer them $1200.00 and see what they counter with. How many lifts come up for sale used, local to you? The time to buy one is when you don't have to have it.

Re: Help me set-up my garage!

Good points. Framed in under the roof overhang, even with good air ventilation - and with proper sound insulation, mounted on good isolation blocks - the noise from that compressor would be less than...

Stran0020:
Since you don't have an excess of garage space - the first things I would do - are{

1. Plan to put that Compressor outside. Buy or pour a concrete pad large enough for it to sit on....

Re: Potential layout for new garage, what do you think?

I'd get a couple metal storage cabinets. 18'' deep, 4' wide - on castors. They would give you more useful shelf space. Then maybe some package racking if you need to store larger items. If I built a...

Re: Underlayment for Concrete/Ceramic Tile Roof - replacement

When I say "concrete / ceramic" - I'm thinking concrete tiles or Kiln Fired Clay - i.e. ceramic. Maybe thats the wrong term? I wasn't aware of any concrete tiles that had a ceramic coating.
