Re: What tool in the garage is a must for the person above you

Re: Looking for a 2 post lift for small garage

I was in the same boat as the OP. You cannot put the columns of a Mohawk within 2 feet of the edge of a slab. My bay ended up being just under 12' wide. I used to have a Mohawk 10k in my last place...

Re: Anchoring 4-post Lift - Heads Up

Just use some drop in anchors and be done with it. The lift won't move and you don't have anchors that stick up out of the ground that make moving the lift difficult.

Re: Rick's Audi Double

You need a lift to make all those tire changes easier. A scissor lift would do the trick, I use mine to pickup my SQ5 and other cars all the time. Best part is that it doesn't have any posts to get...

Re: Building a motorcycle lift (platform) to be used with a 2 post lift

Bumping this tread back up. I had gotten a couple of PM's over the last few months asking me about the pictures. Since we shut down our photography studio and the pics were hosted on our server, I...

Re: Milweukee Tool batteries

I had to buy some Milwaukie V28 batteries last year and I waited for a 30% off sale from Zoro to pick them up. It sure made a big difference in cost as those batteries can cost a fortune.

Re: Install a lift in narrow garage?

I am using a scissor lift in a garage that is just over 11' wide. It works, but I only work on Euro stuff in my garage. Anything wider might be challenging to have enough room for stuff such as...

Re: Scissor lift ... downside??

I paid slightly less than that, but that appears to be the going price. More than I wanted to spend but really the only non Chinese choice I had that would work with my size restrictions in my garage.

Re: Scissor lift ... downside??

So the rotary you linked in the last link only shows a single hydraulic cylinder per side, the Werther has dual independent hydraulic circuits. There are no mechanical locks as the dual circuits...

Re: Scissor lift ... downside??

I have a Werther Statos SRM scissor lift. It has a capacity of around 7k lbs and does a full 6'+ lift. I have lifted Audi's, VW's and some Japanese cars all without any issues, even lifted my JD X300...

Re: The Christmas Tool Thread - what did you get this year?

A festool sys 1 cart, makes moving the ever growing stack of sustainers easier to move around. A Route 66 sign and an inverter for the car. The rest is not garage related.

Re: 2 post lift

I had a Mohawk System 1A lift for about 3 years and loved owning it.

Re: Wall-storing A 24' Extension Ladder

Looks good, but I can't give up that much wall space, but you have given me an idea. I do have a bit of ceiling space left, but my ladder is 32', so make that about 17' not extended. Damn thing is...

Re: Is this a Rotary lift?

You do know they have their china made revolution line, it could be available in black. Best way to find out is to look at the data plate and get the model and serial numbers and look them up or even...

Re: 240 volt hookup question

That is not good enough, you will need a disconnect as previously indicated. I am not sure if a lockable breaker might meet that requirement, that you can lock out tag out.

Re: Increasing Ceiling Height

You could go with a commercial style rollup door rather than the traditional residential style sectional overhead door. They do make insulated versions of the rollup doors to solve your problem.

Re: Delivery of a 60 Gallon Compressor - HD, Lowe's, etc?

I just picked up a 80G Quincy compressor from a local retailer (not big box). I rented a small U-haul landscape trailer as it has a ramp. I also rented a pallet jack, total rental expense was about...
