I agree with you...next summer I'm beginning work on a barn that was built in the late 40's, early 50's & never painted....don't know how far I'll go in making it weathertight but, I want to repair...

I really want to see photos of the roof you built between the cellar and the old barn wall...I thought of that immediately....heck, it adds to the size of your building.

Probably good advice to hace someone look at it....12 years ago when I wanted to enlarge my garage, I hasd an engineer look at it....he told me there was no way to take out 34' of the back wall...

I removed 34' of the rear wall of my garage & added 20' to its depth - half the garage at a time.

My '92 Sonoma has 350,000+ miles on it; my '98 Dodge 1500 has 210,000+ miles on it; my '82 380SL has 165,000 miles & some of my MG's, who knows....until it's rust, it's repairable!

You could use a combination of lengths of 2x12's....nail a combination that spans the entire length of the garage to studs/joists like he said...then nail/glue plywood to the 2x12's & put another...

Easiest in the world to build.....series of 2x4's with masonite screwed to each side for the 'separaters' & 'ends'.......stand them where you want support or separator & nail long 2x4's top & about...
