I would like to know where you got your T5 Lights and how much they cost.
The only ones I can find that I like are from Home depot which are T8 and cost 120 each.

Thanks

I bought them at a local electrical supply store - a real one that supplies electricians and contractors, not a big box hardware store.

The scissor lift is temporary as I have pads in the floor (thicker concrete/no in-floor heat pipes) for a 2 post lift. If you look carefully, both 120v and 240v plugs are in the ceiling for the 2 post lift.

Once I have the time and money, I'll replace the scissor lift with a 2 post.

yep, saw the rough-in for the lift, no point, just joking
in my shop I have the "overabundance", as some call it, of outlets and still have to use a 25' extension cord for most of my "short cord" power tools
also wired lift, drop lights down from the ceiling, it makes a nice clean installation
looking good!

not yet, initially started as a 24 x 32, gambrel roof shop/barn in '92, added a 22 x 36 to the rear for a machine shop, then a 22 x 24 to the front for a lift, 14 x 32 under the upstairs roof is woodworking.

will finally post some pics when back in the US, in China now, haven't seen it myself in 5 months............

Hey Marc, I'm glad to see your build again. I recall studying it about two years ago when I was in the planning stages of my own project. Now that you have been inside and enjoying it for a couple of years what are your favorite points? Have you done any recent mods to your car in the new garage?

Best part is just being able to leave stuff and coming back to find it in the same place - I can leave a project half done rather than have to clean up every night.

I have been driving the car all summer so don't do much work on the car during the short summer but have a bunch of projects planned for the winter.

That's awesome! I can't wait until I'm able to start my own projects. I looked at your 911 thread and it seems there is not much left to do. What are you planning?

I keep an updated list here.

Mostly it is maintenance and preventative stuff, a few repairs, and only a few performance mods.

Garage update:

Got broken into a few weeks back - not much gone but reminded me about the importance of security. Without going into details, I have since beefed up security significantly so that won't happen again!

I have an electrician coming Monday to install a few more lights inside as well as a HPS light for the outside.

I'll post a few pictures about how things look now - a few changes since I lasted posted pictures.

No, all pictures loading fine - perhaps you were looking at a message from someone else quoting my message when the original photos weren't showing.

Thanks guys - I am happy with how it all turned out.

Here are a few more shots showing how it looks now. I am waiting on getting some regulators/filters from Eastwick to get the air lines done.

Here is a shot of my compressor under the stairs (by the water heater for the in-floor heat) showing I've just gotten started on running the air lines.

OMG - that RapidAir tubing is a ****** to work with as it is so stiff!

Hey, Great Build.

I also am using Nudura for my frost wall and I have a few questions for you.

What did you do to keep the concrete down at door openings? I see lumber on the sides of the openings in the pictures, but it doesn't show down in the forms. Did you just not put as much concrete in those spaces? Did you come back after and cut the forms out that did not get filled. How did you do this? Skill saw?

Also, what was your strategy for the bottom sill plate on the forms? Is there a sill gasket? Is the framed wall centered on your foundation wall?

Thanks!

I can't answer for the OP, but I have ICF's also and on the door openings we cut the foam to the rough opening of the door. Wood was used to block the sides and the bottom of the opening was just left as is. The concrete was poured to the top of the foam forms, just like it is on the stemwall. Concrete is thick enough that is won't spill out from under the wood block on the sides of the openings.

It doesn't have to be exact on bottom of the door openings as the floor slab is poured on top of the frost wall at the opening.
