Any information on this Columbian vise?

I bought this Columbian that I found locally. The guy wire wheeled it to clean it up and it looks quite solid. Weighs in at ~45#. Can't make out a model number on the smooth "plaque" area but there is an engraving on the slide: G 5011. This is hidden when the vise jaws are closed but when cranking it open this hand engraved number appears. Maybe it's S011. Any information based on this number? Can it be a 1950 vise?
I'm quite happy with the find. Nothing is bent, T jaws are still heavily checkered, swivels well and I haven't yet worked on it to clean it up. The only play is a bit side to side but pretty stout otherwise.
Here are some photos:

No information on the secret number on the slide that covers the screw?

Any other Columbian vise owners have a number hand engraved there?

Thanks in advance for any information about this vise.

I might be wrong but that Columbian is a # 604 Its the lettering on the side that runs concave and not straight dates that vise some 60 years back.

Thanks for the information.

So the G5011 hand engraving might very well be a date code and that would make it ~60 years old. Kind of fun to have something that old that looks that good.

I had a chance to look under the swivel base and saw that it was stamped 604-3. The screw has a diameter of ~1". The more I look at it the more I think I'll keep it as rather than paint it. Thanks for the help.

If it's in an unheated space, you'll probably want to at least give it some clear coat. I left the handle and the big knob on my Reed unpainted and no matter how hard I try to keep a couple of coats of wax and some oil on it, it keeps rusting up.
