Would you trust your HF cabinet's drawer strength enough to stand in it?

I definitely wouldn't, though after seeing MNJ's pic, I'm less doubtful than I was before.

I've seen my fiancee climb into one of the bottom drawers on my HF box to reach something in the top. Scared the **** out of me but it worked out just fine.

MechanicNamedJohn: Your lame attempt to show the strength and usefulness of the HF box is pitiful. If you really want to show us how good the box is get some hot chicks to pose with it. We refuse to believe it unless there are hot chicks in the picture.:lol_hitti

Great demonstration by the way but you really should have a picture of that box with a good looking babe posed next to it.

Damn John, your not f-ing around with this. I wonder how that conversation went. I wonder if she asked if she had to stand in a drawer! ( she's hot too!) I wonder what else we should ask for!

<~~~ that box, single slide drawer, no problem.

First test, hey, have to start out small, right?
IMG_2486.jpg

Ok, ok, just the shop mascot hanging out. The chain is there because she likes to do loops in the drawer, which causes it to go flying out, and it nearly decapitated me a few times.

The real test. 250 lbs or so, single slide drawer, no sweat.

Well John, Looks like I'm gonna have to get one of those when I build my garage. Toolbox that is. GF is going to have to wait. It was tough enough for me to convince her we needed a garage...

Thanks

I'm going to say hell no, haha. I wouldn't really trust any tool box enough to stand in it though, I don't care what they tell me. :wtf:

This thread is full of win.

It was a real stretch for me to buy two HF boxes when I did, and still buy new tires for two of my cars. I am very happy with the boxes, the tires, the new cabinets I built over the boxes and the insulation and drywall on the second floor.

I think I spent my money wisely.

If my toolbox costs as much as a small house I'd expect to be able to sleep in the drawers because that's probably what I'd end up doing. If, on the other hand, I want to keep tools in the drawers, maybe they don't need to be that strong.

Damn John - you're becoming the poster child and the defacto marketing department for HF tool boxes. Strength tests and proof that hot babes WILL pose on cheap tool boxes. And all on a budget that comes out less than one client lunch for the ad firm that Snap On uses.
You, sir, may have missed your true calling in life.

Ill try to get a picture of my feathery 310lb frame in my beat up, used KRA-3027. After seeing MNJ's posts and Nissancrawlers posts, I'm debating what box to get when I fill this one up.

Gentlemen, we have a winner.

Harbor Freight corporate should be writing John and his model a very big check.

I think you can stand in the drawer of the HF box...for about half a second before the box falls over on you

Lol. I must be doing something wrong.

Looking at toolboxes this morning I noticed on the inner lid of a Snapon box a big warning sticker that said "Do not open more than two drawers at once with over XXXX amount of weight" "DO NOT STAND IN THE DRAWERS". I instantly thought, "Why would anyone stand in the drawers?"

I can't wait till the next time I need a step stool for something..

I could care less, if tool boxes can hold MY weight. I am not dumb enough to put 180lbs of tools in 1 drawer. If I spent a grand or 2 on a toolbox I would expect it to hold alot of weight. But since I can get more then enough tool storage for half that money by buying HF boxes, I wouldnt expect it to, hold as much weight, but I know they'll hold enough for me. I dont make my living out of a tool box, and I dont expect those guys that do, to buy anything from HF. But personally, I LOVE HF.

I wouldn't trust the drawers in my Snap On box to hold my 200lb ****. One of ones at work didn't hold up to a 150lb girl doing it, bent the drawer and messed up the slider. Granted did have about 60lbs of tools in it as well, but still pretty pathetic.

So... uh... do boxes come with along with all these hot girls now? CAUSE this guy is giving AWAY an older Snap On box and getting something new!:thumbup:

I love my Snap-On tool box but if I had to store lot's of heavy stuff I'd go with Lista. The amount of stuff that you can store in them is amazing.

Looks like I am getting a Harbor Freight box. I went there this weekend and looked at them. Honestly, I thought the drawers of my Kobalt box was smoother, but I have outgrown it and need bigger now. Had I been on this site before I bought the Koblat box 9 months ago, I would have gone with the HF box. It would have been the same cost to get the HF 41" top and bottom box as I paid for the Kobalt 26" top, middle, and bottom box.

MNJ,
With your permission, I would like to print your pictures to take with me to HF. Then I can just show the pictures and say, "I want this!" Great job on proving the worth of the HF box. It, along with the rave reviews in other threads, has convinced me. Let me know where to have them send you a commission check when I buy mine.

Am I the only one stupid enough to see if there really was a morguejournal.com! :) Seriously though, I just re-furbed a SO roller and side cabinet and despite all the SO worship on this site, they seem to be no better or stronger than any of the popular boxes like C'man, HF , Waterloo, MAC etc.

I have C'man, Husky, SO and even a little top chest from Kmart of all places and they're all about the same. The most important thing is that all of them keep the tools off the floor.
