I have done some unsafe things while working. Using strange supports is one of them! I needed to get my old Impala 36 inches off the floor once. ALL FOUR TIRES! I didn't have to correct equipment. I use a variety of jack stands, boards, ramps and yes, bricks to get it up there. I was lucky, it never fell on the way up. Once up I used railroad ties, cross stacked, to make sure it didn't fall. PLEASE, PLEASE use the right equipent. I cringe at the thought of someone getting hurt from a poor jack stand or inproper lifting device.
I had a car fall on me once. Lucky thing was it didn't have an engine in it and the tires were still on it. It cracked a few ribs on the bounce but I wasn't trapped. I was using proper jack stands at the time too. I just pushed a little too hard while I was under it and knocked it off. Be safe!!!! |
