New to me at least. I moved into this place in January, based in no small part on the garage. It's an average sized 2-car, but coming from San Francisco, that's a luxury I've never known! I've also never seen a garage with so many windows, I don't even have to turn the lights on if I'm working out there in the daytime. Anyhow I'm planning to mount a parts washer, table top drill press and bench grinder along the bench on the back wall soon and I'd love to hear about any other useful shop equipment you'd recommend. So with that, on to the pics!

You are going to enjoy the space. Looks like a nice set up.

I had a green 68 Porsche 912 way back in 68. Picked it up at the factory. $4,200 out the door. Great car. Like a fool, I traded it in on a big block Corvette.

With the space you have available, bench top tools will probably work the best. To keep nosey neighbors and bad guys from seeing your cool stuff, you may want to consider some "manly" curtains or blinds to secure you many windows.

I also ordered a new 68 911L from the factory, same green color and same interior. Nice running car after you took off the smog pump and rejetted the Webers... Had many a fun time in that car...

LOL at the Manly curtins! That's actually a really good idea, I live on sort of a busy street and Don't want people snoopin around.

I've heard the smog pumps on those '68s were horrid. I wonder why Porsche couldn't come up with a design that actually worked...

Nice looking garage, enjoy it.

For what its worth, mount or place that fire extinguisher near the door. If you need to use it the last thing you want to do is rush in past the fire to get it and then potentially find yourself trapped in the back of your garage - although with all those windows...

Here is hoping you never have to use it.

Oh that's the nice thing about restoring smaller cars.. more room! I on the other hand, have a '49 Chev and a '55 Buick that really **** up the room! Got rid of my Triumphs.. those things I could put anywhere. Anyway.. Love the setup and the cars. Very nice place to "hang" after a day at the factory! Nice....

Maybe with some scrounging you could come up with a steel top for the bench. Looks like it's painted 2x6's. Try a scrap metal place or a commercial kitchen contractor,(ask for 2nd hand stainless tops, they regularly rip out and replace them). There must be a type of pull down screen that lets light in but isn't see through. All that natural light is a bonus.
I 2nd the motion on moving the fire ext. to the door. It gives you the option of "fight or flight". Good luck.

Thanks guys, that's a great tip on the Fire ext. - I'll most def move it next time I'm out there. Also great tip on the steel bench covering, I think it's made out of some sort of scrap wood siding or something that's not level at all.
