Paul, great garage! It's funny to me how many Canadians post here during the winter, only to disappear when the weather gets warmer. :)

Did I interpret correctly that your small parts drawers are from Gray, or were you referring to the tool boxes?

Any ice on the rink, yet?

I think the disappearing act is due to good weather or the lack of it...I know we try to avoid working in the shop on nice days (that may also have to do with the upkeep of the 100 acres we need to maintain).

Gray tool boxes...Rouseau parts drawers.

No ice in the rink this year...weather has been too mild, my son's away and I'm at a different rink 5 times a week as it is.

Charlie...You have a woodworking shop too? I guess I contemplated that some time ago, but knew I couldn't manage 2 huge hobbies. What projects do YOU have on tap?

will you adopt me

How good are your restoration skills? :)

Thanks, Paul, my dad is more of a woodworker than I am, though I have made some furniture and am just about to build some cabinets for the metal shop. I do a little work on my track car (a 944 Turbo that I run at Mosport, or whatever they're about to start calling it) though, and I'm gearing my new shop up to help with that.

All i can say is WOW. If your not adopting, do you have a daughter that needs to find a nice caring young man who shares all the same interests as her dad. It seems to be a bit colder where you live compared to what i am used to, but i will sacrifice for the good of all things rusty that become shinny and new in your kingdom of awesomeness.
Go ahead and pm me your address and we will start this relationship out in person, just as soon as i can get my affairs in order and sell off the 3 material things that i have acquired in my lifetime.
Can i take the batmobile to town when the weather gets a bit warmer?
If you are some kind of drug lord kingpin, please disregard the above message.

absolutely incredible kingdom you have built yourself.

Apparently you do not get out much and have no clue what humor is. While living in your bubble, may i suggest you watch a few movies that may put a smile on your face, try Raising arizona, any Monte python movie, Best in show, Oh, The Jerk, that is a good old funny movie and seems very fitting at this time. It won't hurt. Or, you can just continue to kick kittens and bunnies, your choice, life is way to short to take everything so serious.
I say good day to you Sir.

This is too cool a thread in which to start a food fight. While I enjoyed the humor, and understood it was a compliment. Not everyone understands nor appreciate my sense of humor. While I understand the humor, it may not always be taken as such. So instead of this misunderstanding devolving into a food fight lets stop now. So just kiss and make up so we can see what else is in this awesome facility.

I am much more of a lurker than commenter on this site, but I gotta say this is a truly amazing shop facility, with great restorations and toys. My hat is off to you sir!

Having your own ice rink, while it is an great structure, is not something I have ever thought of nor lusted after. The weather conditions require it be cold enough for ice. Just not for me, my blood is way too thin.

Again congrats on a great facility (it is just to big and complex to be called just a shop)!

Fair enough, my lack of recongnition of your satire is on me. Please accept my apologies.
All of this class warfare nonsense is a soft spot with me.
May your day go equally as well Sir.

As far as the fireworks I just missed ... I never read it in a negative way to begin with (obviously the way it was meant to be conveyed) or I would be the first to lash back, LOL.

Although misinterpreted, its nice to see people standing up for fellow members at the first hint of disrespect, thank you.

And for the record, sacastic emails/posts are often misunderstood (especially when you don't add any smilies to confirm the intent!).

Glad it got worked out....we're good, right?!? (where's that "rhetorical question" smiley.....

Trying to pick a favorite...........Zamboni was ahead until I saw the Batmobile. I am a true product of the sixties. The Batmobile wins!

Nice job on the restorations. You have skills that I only dream of.

We are all good, i sent mws a pm, I meant no disrespect and am glad you did not read it that way. Sometimes the garagejournal needs a bit of humor, and i am quick to give it.
Anyway, peace to everyone.
Amazzen, beautiful property, i know it has been in the works for some time, and your choices have all been well thought out, what a wonderful place to call home. I commend you.:canada2:

Amazzen.....in the first pic, is that another Coke machine around the corner. I'm assuming it's not a mirror on the side.

Where did that Batmobile come from or by that I mean what is it? Is it some kind of kiddie ride that you see in front of stores or some kind of Fair ride?

Correct...its an original Vendo 44 and unrestored. Batmobile was indeed a "kiddie ride" (I have the coin box, but no motorized stand). They made similar bodies with different Super Heroes sitting inside as shown on the key box.

OKAY....they're not ALL Super Heroes...but ya know what I mean...

The show must go on.....

Back to Garage building! I've been working on cleaning up that open rack space (not by moving the parts above, but adding sliding doors)...

img00031201202200842.jpg

Here are some of the doors we're building...

img00030201202200841.jpg

They will be fitted with rollers and siding material on the front faces.

I'm hoping it will really spruce up the place while keeping my "awkward/messy parts" at hand.

And I'll need to label these door fronts (for contents) somehow as well. Pretty soon, I'm going to need an inventory program just for all these darn labels!
