Well here's my 20'x20' standard two car garage. Part of a 2,600 sq. ft. townhome. We recently moved in at the end of October last year and I tried doing what I could before it started getting cold. Plans this spring include painting the walls, probably just white but might do a theme, and then epoxy on the floor. Something to get me by until we build our forever house in 5-8 years. :D

Probably the biggest benefit of the garage are the 12ft. ceilings. Too bad the wife won't let me toss a lift in there. :(

This garage for me is definitely more of a workplace than a showroom, but I plan to at least make it somewhat as pretty as I can. Most of the work being done here is car prep as it relates to the Spec V for autocross use, as well as parking for the A3 (wife stays outside...part of the deal for her getting her nice kitchen!). I compete done in D.C. with the WDCR region, taking STX in 2007 and in Philly in 2006. An absolute blast I must say for those who have never tried it. ;)

Anyways, on to the pics.

Before moving in.

A recent pic with some of the goodies awaiting install for this season: new 17x8 wheels with 245/40/17 Bridgestone RE-01R's, and Koni's with Ground Control coils (not in pic). Should be a good season, we'll see how things go this year out in Topeka for Nationals. :D

Your garage is a lot like mine except it's taller and fully sheetrocked.

Try to sell your wife on the lift. They aren't permanent and can be moved to the next house as long as you have access to a couple of strong backs and a trailer.

Thanks guys!

I figure I'm going hold off on pushing for a lift at this point. As nice as it is, my space is still pretty limited. Besides, I have temporary approval for a lift and seperated garage when we get our next place. This is our first home and we hope to buy our next house with enough space to put in probably a 24' x 48', or somewhere in that range. Should give me plently of space for a lift and many other goodies. :D

Nice garage. You have alot of potential with the tall ceiling. Definitely do the lift. Think about overhead storage with the tall ceiling. Get as much off the floor as possible and it will fel much bigger.

It's a cool space, and you did a good job on the sheet rock, but I can't believe you moved in without giving it a coat of paint.

Am I the only one thats noticed your back drivers side wheel being off the ground. Your car doesnt look like its in that much of a bind for it to be doing that.... Is that what the coil-overs are for???

You got to come up with some way to use that space above the door. It just drives me nuts to see garage door guys do what they did at your place. There is a 4 foot deep space up there!
Change the tracks so the door goes up there and get your removable lift. Or do some searching. Lots of ideas have been tossed around on ways to lift stuff up there.
And get some white paint all around. You will be suprised on how much brighter it makes the room.

DC and the surrounding area with tons of condo/townhome setups. I am glad I moved away from Alexandria, thou I do miss Auto-xing at the area events.

It's too bad that MBNA stadium isn't gonna let the community to use their lot.

Does your Town Home community have an HOA? Mine did hence why I couldn't stand it. 3 noise violations and numerous other BS stuff. Looks good thou.

Probably very stiff sways...plus he is likely going pretty darn hard into that left hander. AutoX isn't like track racing where you have smooth transitions between corners, Autox is back and forth and HARD into the corners. Damn fun way to get around a parking lot though!

Jeff, what's up! Haven't been over here in a little while, I had assumed the thread was dead.

First off, I moved in before painting because it was November and we just wanted to get into the house. Now that it's spring, I'm looking to paint the walls and epoxy the floor. The sheetrock was already done when we moved in, can't take credit for that.

There's definitely usable storage space above the garage door that I plan to use if I ever need it. Right now the only thing I've got on the floor is the stuff underneath the shelves, which really aren't in the way at all. There's still tons of space in basement storage area before I need to worry about storing anything in the garage.

As far as the lift, it's not something I really need at the moment, so I'm not pushing to get it. That will definitely come into the next garage, which should be a detached working garage and use the attached garage to store the cars.

Commenting on the rear wheel being off the ground, welcome to the world of the B15 Sentra. It happens due to the rear beam suspension design. It's much worse on a stock B15, especially one running GS on r-comps. Because it's a solid beam across connecting the two sides, when one side leans it automatically lifts up the other side. There's really no way to get rid of it, but others seem to enjoy watching the show.

Speaking of which, first event is tomorrow morning (practice, not points). Finally going to be able to test out my new Koni/Ground Control suspension and 245/40/17 Bridgestone RE-01R's. I can't wait! :D

Hey, nice garage. I wondered onto this forum to look for ideas for my new garage, but I didn't expect to see that familiar school bus. :bounce: I'm closing on my house in two weeks, and then I'll have a 1-car detached 15' x 20'. I'll probably remodel the garage before any other room in the house! :D

Are you still thinking about epoxy for the floor? I'll give you a hand, if I can learn how it's done.

Jeff, I see you got lost. :D

I still plan on doing the floor and painting the walls, it's just a matter of finding the time to actually do it with all of the planned events this year. It will get done eventually, but if I have any suggestions it would be to do it BEFORE you get settled in. Otherwise you get lazy. ;)

And congrats and good luck with the house!
