Do you need a guy polishing all your cars or just drive them...I can fly over any time...;)

I appreciate the offer and I definitely need help in that department... let me know your availability...;)

Get healthy!
Nice to see some update.

Thanks, I'm working on that...

Get well soon Amazzen. We look forward to seeing you back.

Thank you, I don't know if I will be back at the same screaming pace, but we'll soon see.

I just wanted to post up and say I hope you are getting better, and pray God's speed in getting back to what you love. Hang in there Buddy!

Thanks so much for the blessings, I know that warm thoughts and prayers are healing wonders.

I have at least gotten through the Biopsy stage... no cancer and now dealing with Sarcoidosis. its still a very serious disease, but one I can do something about and hopefully get rid of it one day.

Besides changing my diet, I have to eliminate my "Garage dust/fume intake" completely! The wife will not allow me in the shop without a mask ever again.

Hey... thankfully I still have that option!

I agree. great place with a lot of thought and determination. Thats the part that wins here, personally you wouldn't have to fight me for the stuff, for the most part would get rid of what I got if I could afford to, ha My jealousy factor is low, main reason is I know how much work it is. Lots of people think it comes for free.

Well said, thank you. All things come at a price of time, money or health...choose your sacrifices carefully.

. . .ok, I have 169sq. feet of "Shop". That means you could fit 82.60 of my shops in your space. I didn't count the arena.

>>Headslap<<

Hey, 169 sq. feet is still a "workspace"! It's not that you need more space to work on a project anyway. The extra space is just "extra-vagant"...its not everyone's cup of tea either.

Of course you could always install a compressor and have aritificial ice.

Thought has crossed my mind, didn't make the time, money and health radar screen, LOL.

Glad to hear the prognosis is good. Prayers for a full recovery.

Maybe we all should take some caution and not be mr. macho about protecting our health. Masks are perfectly fine and should be worn as needed. Glasses more so.

Thanks for posting. What an amazing space! I'm a competent woodworker, but no metal/welding/fab skills, so I'm alway impressed by how much skilled gents with the right tools can do. 100 acres, yeah......I'm on 2.2, and thought it was huge moving from the city.

And your own rink? I've got a confession to make: Hello, my name is jvitez, I'm Canadian, and I can't skate.

Your own Batmobile: yikes! So very, very cool. My son and I met George Barris in person a couple of years ago, and my son got him to autograph his sketch book filled with young boys dreams of fast cars. It was a very memorable experience, as I'm sure building all you amazing vehicles has been to you. Thank you very much for sharing. And get well soon!

First off, prayers for good health. Second, very nice setup, and collection.
I think Jay Leno would be envious of this. Godspeed.

Hope you are recovering, prior to reading the last page my only comment was going to be "Dear God, please oh please let this guy have a hangar full of vintage planes!"

Now I hope you feel better soon and develop a mysterious passion for roung engines!

I wish you a quick healing in body and mind. I know how paralyzing and scary facing cancer can be. Thank God that you're past that. I'm so grateful for the skilled surgeons at Mayo in PHX and the Da Vinci robotic technique they used on me last April 1st. Since the radical prostatectomy I've had 4 consecutive 0% psa scores and I'm back in the garage with my projects. Keep the faith and wear your mask!

Good luck in Phoenix!

Just read and shared this thread with the wife.

I have been a bit slack recently with reading threads.

I am 100% sure there was more hard work than "dumb *** luck" in getting to where you are now.

I am really pleased you and your dad get to play every day.

My dad and I were great friends too, and it has to be said a good relationship like that is worth than a load of cash.

Thanks for sharing your great space and toys.

Thank you.

My favorite thing of all would be the Batcave.....JUST KIDDING.

I don't really have a favorite "thing".....let me explain this way:

People ask me what my favorite car is.... my answer is ..."the one I'm working on"!

Does that make any sense?

Yep:)

Awesome shop and storage areas. I'm glad to see you're on the mend now and recharging. As cool as the Daytona is, the 76 Camaro made my heart skip a beat. if you have managed to retire at 51, that gives me six years to earn a boatload of cash...durn. Might just have to do like some of my friends who own businesses have done and work for a living doing what I love...according to my buddies, it's just like retirement except with a really nice income and you get to live your hobby.
Thanks for the inspiration,
Chip.

Sorry I'm a bit late in "visiting" (they don't let me out of the Asylum very often :)), but I hope things continue to get better on the health front. Here's to a speedy recovery and getting back into the old groove in the shop.

Sarcoidosis - had to look that one up. What little I have read makes it sound like the odds are with you for a full recovery, so I wish you the best with the fight.

We all are looking forward to seeing more of your fun times. Being back in the shop has certainly been my best therapy lately.

This thread just kicked me square in the sack. Please tell me you have an on-site whiskey distillery, too.

I'm still looking for the First Tee and the 9th green.

I just got in on this thread. I want to add to the many that wish you a full and speedy recovery and many more great days with your dad. Can't imagine how cool it would be to be retired and spending days with your dad.

That's just cool no matter how big or small of a place you have.

Shopnut.... The problem we have, is that we're addicted to the Therapy!

I have a confession..... I had to change the oil in my truck down here in Arizona and well you know how "one thing leads to another"?

I ended up changing the front brake pads, rotors and rotated the tires!

very impressive. you may want to have a "poison pill" cause when Jay Leno gets ahold of this thread, he may want to propose an acquisition. Nicely done. btw, my daily driver, 02 gmc sierra duramax could use a makeover..hint hint.

Yeah, and if the engine would have been puffing a little smoke out the tailpipe, it probably would heve been rebuilt too. :) It looks like you have a toolbox wherever you are - so life is good, right?

Watch it! - That "one thing leads to another" thing can keep you busy for days, weeks, or years even. ;)

I simply can't go somewhere and put my feet up the whole time, I'm not built that way. Not a fully decked out shop, but a good compromise with the boss.

Maybe Ross can hook you up with his neighbor for the phone box?

69 Camaro's (RS type) are my favorite. My RS/SS Conv has been restored other than wheels and a 502 GM crate motor upgrade. Its a cute car with just enough giddie up.

pict0666qz4.jpg

69 Z28/RS is undergoing a total original resto.

69 pace car will also undergo an original resto.....some day.

Also waiting to paint my 76 Camaro (I'm replicating my first new car. Well almost...as it was after I hopped it up a little)

Here's my project the way it sits right now

253rh.jpg

Here's what my actual car looked like in 1977

starskycamarooooona7.jpg

Here's the new 450hp stroker that's going in. I will try and keep the engine bay as stock looking as possible and probably postpone the stripe treatment for now. Not an investment car, but its something I've wanted to do for a while now.

img00202201108161613.jpg

They say you can't go back in time, but I do.....everytime I go into my showroom!

Hope you get back to those Camaro's of yours soon enough.

I also started out in high school cruising in my 75 camaro. I think I know where the camaro is and I should go track it down. Like zogman I have moved on to Cougars. Oh and nice garage or should I say shop...

Yup, your "vacation shop" is enough to make most of us a little jealous.

I just would like to see my shop that clean once.

Just want to add, best wishes with your battle and a speedy recovery.

Hope your health is improving and you're able to get back out in the shop.

I'm also late to this thread, said many times before but can help and state WOW!!

... Awesome setup!!!! You are truly blessed to be able to spend time doing what you enjoy with your dad.

+1

It is nice to see that you are now enjoying the fruits of your labor, good for you.

But for all the things you can buy or build, it is great that you can do it with your Dad - enjoy your time together.

That said, if you have build pictures of the BatMobile you have GOT to start a thread on that one and step us through your adventure!!!

Sign me up for the summer tour when it occurs, I would like to run at Mosport some day and visiting your place too would be a good reason to make the trip up your way.

TBM....LOL, no wasn't me!

Where was that photo taken anyway? California? My cars don't usually venture off my property so a street photo would be rare.

Oddly enough, every time someone spots a Batmobile, I get calls asking if I had my car out.

Sorry I've been away for while, I've been working on my health and I"m feeling great again. I haven't beat this thing yet, but my new regimen is going a long way towards that. "Wake up calls" are blessings only if you actually "wake up"! I plan on sticking to it so I can get back to doing what I love without compromise.

Sooooooo... I've been back in the shop tinkering with my Highschool recreation and its about 99% complete...

img00130201205281320.jpg

I also got a chance to work on a couple of Jukeboxes I'm restoring, but now that summer is here, the garage work mostly waits for rainy days or the Fall to arrive.

So back to the garden work and grass cutting I go...

With over 30 acres of grass to cut on a weekly basis, it feels like "ground hog day" or "painting a bridge" everytime I step into my tractor! Like most chores, a good attitude about getting them done usually goes a long way!
