Painting car shed

I've been wanting to change the color of my car shed to white to match everything else we have. I asked for a paint with primer already added and was told it didn't exist for metal at Lowe's. I used something similar on concrete blocks that worked great and has seemed to be very durable. The guy pretty much seemed set on the fact that I'd have to prime it then paint it. My problem with it is their primer was $25-28 a gallon and then the paint was $33 a gallon. I guestimated around $300 just in material. I really don't want to put that much in a change of color. Anyone know of a better deal or a brand that I can paint with without killing me and the debit card? I attached a pic of said carport. I was hoping to spray it with a Wagner power painter if that helps.

Looks like it is already painted.. can't see why you couldn't just scuff it up, clean degrease and paint it.. no primer...

Maybe buy a pint of the paint and test it first.

I would use Valspar Duramax exterior paint. Its paint and primer in one coat. I used it on my house and its good stuff. Its says its ok to use on primed metal so I would think you are good to go.

The guy there or kid since didn't look past 23 seem to think I need to prime it since his stuff was oil based and mine could possibly be water based. I don't mine spending $150 on 5 gallons of paint, but the $300 is a little much and I was hoping to just wash it with outdoor Clorox and a pressure washer and go at it. I think we used Valspar on the block around our house and that was the best paint I'd ever bought. It was pricey but it had primer made into it and just took two coats. Scuffing that thing will be a pain since it's 18x20. I'm just not the brightest on cosmetic stuff and every time I think I know something about paint, I find out I just thought I did. The shed was originally my mom's until she passed so I took it down and moved it, twice since we moved here. Just trying to make it blend better with the other surroundings. That photo is kinda old and that old Tacoma is long gone, it seemed like a good idea at the time to swirl the plate. Should have kept it, took tons of abuse without a wimper.
