Went shooting today with a few friends. Wanted to get the shotgun out today as it has been about a month. Well we go over to this place called 20 mile off of Red Pine drive if any west michigan people are familier with it. It is state land and is like a shooters heaven. So many shotgun shells everywhere and trash from people shooting at things. Well I went to go pee in the bushes and I found a socket. I know it is something small, but I thought it was awesome. Haven't looked at the name or anything as I have to clean it up. Now if I was a little smarter I would have cleaned it up and took a picture before making the post, but I guess excitiment is overwhelming that idea. Will go clean it and be back later with photos :)

P.S. It felt great to shoot at things and blow them up. Stress reliever lol.

So much better than "I peed on a tool today"...and no we do not want pics of that! :D

I didn't pee on it. I found it next to the bushes while walking over to pee. It was in the dirt. I seen the silver a little and I was like hey thats a tool!!

Sounds like your a good hunter too. Do you hunt with your shot gun. I have a Remington 12ga. 870 and a 12 ga. Browning BPS. I got my eye on a Browning Sweet 16 BPS right now. I may pick the Sweet 16 up in July.

Okay cleaned off all the dirt. It is a Craftsman 12 point 14mm 44235. I hear a lot of people don't like 12 point so maybe thats how come it was out their? Unless someone lost it??

Oh well another tool to add to the toolbox in case I may never need it :)

I used to be good, than when I moved here I quit shooting. Used to go duck and phesant hunting with my uncle out in cali.

I love going shooting. Getting back into it now. I want to get back into hunting.

With "Flank Drive" I like 12 point better. Since the socket is on the flat of the nut not the corners. That socket looks like the older style socket with out the "Flank Drive". It still works, you can't beat free. I'd take it to SEARS and try and get a Flank drive socket. Made In USA.:3gears::D

It has a V on it. So I don't know if that may make it old??

Ducks and Pheasant...Your a better shot than me. I like rabbit hunting..I use a lot of shells and my shoulder is sore at the end of the day. That's why I'm looking at the Browning 16ga. LOL. You have an Auto-Loader shot gun or pump. i notice in my neck of the woods quail hunters like to use O/U or auto shot guns.

I've always wanted to do rabbit shooting and squirrel. May try it this summer if I can get my friend to do it with me.

I have a pump. I like the pump a lot better. Surprising my sholder is not sore tonight!

V series ran from 1946 to 67 under Drop Moore Forge, and then to 1986 under Easco (Merger or buyout, :dunno: but no newer than that (other than NOS laying in a warehouse/store somewhere..)

And contrary to some people on here there is nothing really wrong with 12 pt., and free is always good...

Gosh, I don't know if I would be more excited about shooting, or finding a

tool (any tool). However, if I were to have a tool finding experience,

shooting or not, I'll bet I'd be excited enough to have to pee too.

No offense offered...none taken. (hee, hee)

very cool find! i love finding tools. this thread caught my eye as i found a pair of 6" channel locks today on the side of the road... brand new, not in packaging, but brand new as they possibly could be. not even road rash.

also found a 1/2 drive HAZET socket in my box last night. very old and heavily used. must have been my grandfathers im guessing. never noticed it in the homeless socket pile in the back of my drawer. very cool

I'm trying to see the details of the socket in the pics, but your nails kept pulling my eyes over there. I couldn't tell if you smashed your thumb nail or if you needed to redo your nails.

Didn't smash thumb. It's the color of nail polish.
