So I received an email earlier today saying:
email said:
Congratulations!
YOU HAVE BEEN AWARDED $5
worth of SHOP YOUR WAY REWARDSSM Points (5,000 Points)
to your account for being our valued Member.

HURRY! These Points expire on 06/24/2012.
You can redeem them towards anything you'd like
in Sporting Goods, in store or online.

And it actually let me use them towards tools!

So i bought this Craftsman Utility knife set for $5.53 in cart price:
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00994876000P

And this Craftsman Edge Utility Cutter for $9.31 in cart price:
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00937309000P

These were both prices using the local ads.

Total cost was $9.84 before tax. I'm happy!

how does this work? Because I have been getting the same e-mails the last few days but every time I login and try to make a purchase the points are nowhere to be found.

I got one too but it says . . . (like the OP)

"HURRY! These Points expire on 06/24/2012.

Whenever things are not specific I find that going to the store works best so you can interact with a human. My local store clerks do a good job making sure I get the discounts and have even bought something and went back a day later when a NEW discount popped up they didn't give me. Makes sense right? I could just return it, then buy it again. :)

For me, I just added the items to my cart using the local ad. I made sure I was logged into the Shopyourway and then I went to my cart to checkout and selected the link to redeem my points. I entered my pin, and the extra $5 was available there.

Yep i'm a "premium member" or whatever. Haven't spent thousands and thousands with it, but a few hundred every couple months at least.
