Ooohh, oohhh, I can answer that one. Those "bumps" are to stop ice from sliding off of the metal roof. If you look at any commercial building that has real winters with snow and ice, you will see them above the entry ways of the buildings.

Are those fishing bobbers hanging on the side of the building? If they are, are they something common for say, the Great Lakes, or something else a little more rare? They do make a nice display.

The previous owner made them. I think they might have mimicked lobster pot markers, but an not totally sure. The garage is 24'X48' with a tall ceiling and a full second floor. It has a wide staircase that takes up some room, but I feel I could get 5 cars in there on the concrete. Likely a 6th if I had a lift. The T-bird needs company, but I shot my wad on the home. I'm not sure yet how I want to lay things out.The house has an additional 2 car attached. That's now the Mrs. and I don't even go in there. ![]() Jim, Thanks for the compliment on the Thunderbird. I love driving it and it does show pretty well.

Greetings, pops.
Always good to see a picture of a classic baby-bird by a fellow owner. Your property looks to be well landscaped and a very nice setting. Congratulations on your buy. Just wondering too, if you are active with your local T-Bird club? We have a pretty active group in my area, which is named the Puget Sound Early Birds. Great people and equally great cars. Looking forward to learning more about your garage and what other cars that might grace your new home. Take care. Ody.

Hi Ody,
The landscaping was all done by the previous owners. I suspect I can all but ruin it within a years time. The home is a little offbeat (As am I) that is what I liked about it. It has a nautical theme that for some reason was a draw to me. You can see some more photos of it at http://www.clayt.com (Look at diversion 6)I have not yet looked for other bird owners locally. I hope to as soon as I knock out about 50 more "honey do's." I do look forward to some of the camaraderie that stems from knowing others that share the same interest. I have learned that I'm within easy driving distance to CASCO and Summit is very close to where I live. I'm lucky though. My car is done. I'm now in the maintaining stage.

Pops! The Donna Marie is beautiful as is the barge with the cranes. Oh, and the tower crane. Very cool builds.
BTW, the new home looks wonderful. Looking forward to seeing more of your creations. My best, Ody. PS: Sorry to read about your camera. New one looks like it will do the trick, certainly based on some of the shots you took. Very nice.

Ody,
Thank you for your kind words. And, thank you too for taking the time to review some of my interests. Because my skill level never rises above mediocrity, I tend to spread it over multiple venues. ![]() Again, thank you.

Thanks for your interest. I eat, sleep, and breathe garages, therefore, I was amazed to see that a forum site existed about garages.
It is nice to see all the different interests and styles that poeple have. All of the garages that I have seen so far are great, big or small. I started an album with more pictures of the garage on my profile page. |
