Just moved in.
Might as well show the inside too.

what are the 'bumps' towards the edge of the roof?
Ooohh, oohhh, I can answer that one. Those "bumps" are to stop ice from sliding off of the metal roof. If you look at any commercial building that has real winters with snow and ice, you will see them above the entry ways of the buildings. Are those fishing bobbers hanging on the side of the building? If they are, are they something common for say, the Great Lakes, or something else a little more rare? They do make a nice display.
Thanks for your interest. I eat, sleep, and breathe garages, therefore, I was amazed to see that a forum site existed about garages.
It is nice to see all the different interests and styles that poeple have. All of the garages that I have seen so far are great, big or small. I started an album with more pictures of the garage on my profile page.
Took this today for another thread, 3-car built in, whole house is Hardie.

Pops, I have found my dream website. My wife can blame you now for the hours I will be on the site reviewing your work. I was stationed on the CGC Rodger B Taney when it decommissioned in 1985. It was 50 years old at that time and was the last active duty ship which saw action in Pearl Harbour, it was actually in Honolulu Harbour but saw the action. I may have to seriously think of making a model of it now. Thanks for sharing your work.
You can see some more photos of it at http://www.clayt.com (Look at diversion 6)
Glad you liked the site Nighttrain, and that I can take a little heat for some of your extra curicular activities.![]()
I like to have fun with the site and sometimes refer back to the photos myself just to rmember what the hell I was doing to begin with.
I looked up the Taney and she would make a fine looking model for sure. Looks like Revell makes or made one, or one could scratch build one with plans.
OK, It ain't fancy but it is definitely KOOL!!!

More like a workshop than a garage, I can only dream right now I can build me a bigger garage one day. The wood is off of a barn that was built in 1901, the doors used to be one big door and it was two feet taller. The 2*8 beams were 29 feet long and we had access to this place for three years. Had a lot of fun, O and the overhangs are 63 caddy hoods.
under construction- 38' x 19'5" CAMO paint job
1- man door 2-8 x 9 sectional doors on ends and 2 Factory doors on the sides.

The work that you do is fantastic and words just don't describe it. If I may ask though, where does one get plans to build projects like that? The blueprint you had of the Bannon had to be 10' long. Do you just start making things to scale from the picture, or do you have dimensioned prints also?![]()
A little update. Not whe whole garage, but the side and back yard.

40x60 with 12ft walls. 4on12 roof pitch.
I had to do a double take when I saw this picture. I have an architect bookmarked because of a similar "outbuilding" he did. Here is mine. It was built three years ago to echo the style of our 1790 Federal style home. We had to work within restrictions related to size, proximity to the property line, and pay careful attention to style, because our house is on the National Register of Historic Places.
