I've checked all the sears around me and around my inlaws in Long island and none left anywhere. If anyone has extra I would like to get a set, esp. the 9 pc. I would be happy to pay the cost plus shipping plus a little for your effort or make you a nice set of racks to hold your sockets almost identical to the hansen socket trays but out of wood for the 3/4" drive, could even paint them your color (black, red, gray, ect). If your interested I can send you pics of the ones I made for my SAE
Thanks,
matthew

Northgate mall in Durham NC had two of each set yesterday. One for $45 the other $50. Not the deal some of you got but still pretty good.

Today, went by local Sears with a receipt from a fellow GJ member and was told "no go". Explanation was that price matching is on regular and sale prices only not on clearance. Oh well. The girl who helped was very nice. However, the guy she was asking regarding price match was a total ****. Not just because he didn't match, he was rude and condescending to the cashier.

Another interesting thing they said, was that "super Clearance"items are completely up to the individual store and not in the Sears system. I'm not totally sure I buy that.

I tried the local Sears Hardware today with a receipt (for the 9pc set) from GJ member and was basically told the same thing. First the manager didn't believe the receipt and called another hardware store in the area and told me they had them at regular price. I said yeah I know that's why I brought the receipt.

She then told me that it was a one time thing at the individual store where I had the receipt from, she said it was more than likely a tag problem and the manager sold them for that price anyway.

I went through the whole story with her and got the impression she just didn't believe me. I then called another store (local corporate owned store) and had them price check the item number. It came up as the clearance price.

I told the manager this and she then went into the whole private owned thing and that her store was different from the corporate stores and it didn't matter she wouldn't sell me the set at the clearance price.

She then went on to tell me that it is up to the individual store manager to honor clearance prices and honor price matches.

Funny thing is I went to a different hardware store with my receipt (I found 6pc sets locally) and they had no problem price matching with the corporate store.

Oh well it was worth a try anyway.

well i got a win win. It started with me calling one of my local mall stores and them telling me they had 1 of the 6 piece sets left, so i had them hold it for me that i would be there shortly. I drove the 45 miles up to the store only to find out that the computer showed 1 set but could not be found in the store. to make a long story short, talked to the manager and walked out without my sockets but WITH a $20 bill for my gas and time. never heard of that happening. so thats my first win.
The second win is when i called the sears in my brother in laws town by columbus oh, in which they claimed to have 5, but after i asked him to go "check" he assured me they had 3 sets. so i had them hold two and now I have 2 6 piece sets. So if anyone with a 9 piece set wants to trade, lemme know, I do expect for the trader to pay for return shipping seeings how the 6 piece set is $10 more than the 9.

My sears had 4 of the 6 pcs. Rang up for $20 each.

I was going to pick up 1 set and some clearance starret blades for $1.97, but no one at cashier desk to ring me up. Lady walked by and didn't even say anything. Just left it all on the counter and left.
I can go across the street to HFT and buy some impact 3/4" sockets for not much more. Have a nice set in case that IIRC I paid $28 for both metric/standard.
If you break a Cman thats all you'll be getting anyways...china

Seems there are a ton of 6 piece sockets. My store had a bunch of them so I bought 3 boxes. Now they are just sitting there, I don't even have a 3/4 ratchet yet and the sizes seem pretty large for automotive use. I was planning on keeping 1 set and trading for a 9 piece or selling them. Seems like they would make a great set for driving in seals and bearings with though. I'm thinking about returning them to the store and letting someone else pick them up. Not really interested in the hassle of finding a box and shipping anyways.

Hello,
I am new to posting, but have been lurking for a bit. I saw this thread and drove over to the surrounding 3 Sears in my area. Out of all 3 there were 2 sets of the 6 count sockets (46306). I picked up both sets and a table top for my drill press that was marked down from $119 to $49. If anyone is interested in a set of sockets ($20) plus the cost of shipping, let me know. Shipping would be from 01606.

None that I could find at my local hometown store, but then again, all of the tools were spread out in a huge mess on the nearby mattresses and floor because the guy was rearranging all the displays. We lost out larger mall store in the next town over a few months ago, so he said they were getting all the sears tool business. I don't know how those stores stay in business.

I was able to pick up 2 extra sets of the 9 piece sockets. PM me with an offer. I have no need for a 6 piece since they are all bigger than anything I need.

If anybody is still interested, I have an extra 7 piece (9 piece set missing the 27mm and 28mm sockets) for sale. I was going to sell them to another member, but didnt realize the sockets were missing until I went to ship them. Just make an offer. The other sets I sent out were $6 for shipping in a flat rate box.
