RaceDeck, Swisstrax, or similar within 100 miles of Detroit?

Does anyone with 100 or so miles of Detroit have RaceDeck, Swisstrax or any other plastic floor tile in their garage? I've been so close to buying but really want to actually walk on the floor before spending that much money. A case of your favorite beer would accompany my visit. Thanks.

I would offer, but I am all the way in the cleveland area. Not too far, but not close either. Why not just use the $$$ you would have spent on the beer and gas and purchase yourself 20-30 tiles (pattern/color you would purchase anyway for your application) as a test, put it down on your floor, walk on it, touch/feel the product etc... then just order the rest of what you need once you convince yourself it is worth the investment. I am extremely happy with mine, and I am sure you will be too.

I've got Gladiator flooring, but over by Kalamazoo, so probably further than you want to travel just to check out some floor. Got a great deal on it from the guys at Halo Super Cars over in Benton Harbor.

Kalamazoo is not that far. Ive been waning to take the little one to the air zoo they have anyway.

A trip to Cleveland would give me a good excuse (not that one is needed) to drop down to Summit Racing.

We manufacture WhirlPool's Gladiator modular flooring line. It is a very high quality product. The difference between RD and Gladiator tiles is the top diamond pattern, color choices and the materials used to manufacture make it the only modular flooring in the world that is UL approved.

Melanie from RaceDeck kindly found someone in the area who had the diamond pattern. I looked at it last night. There was a very light clicking sound when I walked on it but I don't think I would notice it after a few days. Plus I was specifically listening for a sound which I normally wouldn't do. I'm waiting on a tuff shield sample to arrive before making my decision. I have to admit that I really like the look of the free flow but can't imagine how annoying it would be hunting for nuts and screws if they fell between the tiles.

You can also spread out some landscaping fabric on the floor, then put the tiles on top. It doesn't eliminate the noise completely, but it does dampen the sound a bit.. it's a bit more rounded than a sharp click /clack that you'd probably get on bare concrete.

Either way, you do get used to it. After a day or two, I didn't even notice it anymore

Most people do not put anything under the floor, but if you do CRYPTIC is right...Use a synthetic type landscape felt, it will allow moisture to escape. Do Not use Foam padding, it can react to chemicals & petroleum products and will not let moisture flow & escape. Also Do Not use any kind of Rubber in your garage floor, besides the awful smell of rubber that leaches out, it too reacts horrible with chemicals and expands like crazy.
