I had a group of orphan wrenches..... SK, MAC, Snap-on, Proto, Plombe, BluePoint, Indestructo.... as well as Craftsman and Monkey-Wards PowerCraft. A product of garage sales, my Dad, the wife's father and uncle and gifts from friends. Mostly SAE, a few metric.

So I took an hour or so, some scrap hard maple, the dado blade and saw. I created some custom holders to mount on my tool board.

Not that I use these wrenches that much.... but a lot of them have some family history. So it's nice they get a workout occasionally.

This worked out so well, I think I'll make a few more for some of my secondary sets.

Beautiful job. My orphan wrench set is my go to well because its my only set. You learn quickly what brands and styles you prefer.

I love it. Do the holders keep the wrenches from falling off because of vibrations? My tool wall is next to my man door, on accasions I get a rogue wind that will slam the door closed and vibrate stuff off the shelves.

A dato across the top would have the wrenches sit down a bit and keep them from falling.

I'm glad you posted this, I have a **** load of wrenches that I just bring myself to toss because of the memories attached to them.

I like the way that turned out. Enough that if it were me, I'd use those racks instead of the individual pegboard hooks like you have below. I always find the hooks try to pop off when you remove a wrench on those setups.

Hmm, I do have a welder. I bet I could tack up a holder quickly enough out of a bunch of 1/4" square rod stock. That'd be a neat little project. I just need pegboard now. And rod stock. And wrenches.

Mine are all orphan as well.Ive got some that I had when I was a kid,and all the ones from the next 55 yrs so they all just go in a drawer. If I tried to hang em up Id need a 20' wall! The only thing I keep separate are the metric **** that I hardly ever use anyway. It goes in its own top cab I really dont like hanging stuff up because it collects dirt and for some reason Ive got a lot of that too!Nice job organizeing it all up though!
