I really love seeing all the different styles that have been brought to the table.
There has been alot of talent shared here...Please keep it up!

Well...Its that Time of Year Again!
Time to Design and Draw up the Family Christmas Card.
I decided to start before Thanksgiving this Year, and not wait until the last minute.
Here is the Progress of the Rear Cover Logo (which is hand drawn and slighty different each year)...And the Idea of the front sketched out in Pencil, then somewhat drawn in with a Black Ball Point pen...

Then, once I am Happy with the Design...I will move stuff around a little to fit nicer and re-sketch it.
then start the Final line drawing, and color.
I am always changing something, text, colors, ideas...

Cool artwork as always!

I never showed up on Santa's naughty list cause my name is spelled Brien "KXXX"
Now Brian "KXXX" was always in trouble for fighting with his 5 brothers. You know it's bad when you are in church and the priest stops his sermon to have your parents discipline you for fighting with your brothers in the front pews. Don't think we sat down for days LOL.

I finished the Christmas Card this Year (too busy to finish and send out last Years)...And it includes Me (with my A.D.D. issue), My wife waiting to someone to get Hurt, My Son cutting down a Christmas Tree, His wife dressing up the Snowmen, Their Daughter, who climbs everything at the age of 2, Their Son who is in Karate, and his first missing tooth, My Daughter and her Husband and Dog on a Snowmobile. As well as the Other two Family Dogs.
Always fun cramming everything in a Card!

KCarGuy, let me know if interested in doing a couple of my cars...tooned and whatever. Like to blow them up for the shop wall.

This is an awesomely hilarious card! Much better than any sort of cheesy family portrait Christmas card. I think the cartoon cars are awesome, and like NoSloCoupes said above, would be very cool to feature some of your art on my shop walls.

I read earlier that it took you about 20 hours to do the one Christmas card. How long does it take you to do a car drawing on average?

Wishing I could free hand but that side of my brain just doesn't get it. I can line draw as I was trained 30+ years ago as a Draftsman.

Keep them coming!

Thanks Again for the Nice Compliments.
I wish I had more time to do specific Cars for everyone, but like everyone else these days, I seem to have too many projects going on, and find it harder to just sit and draw.
I finished the card late one night when everyone was asleep and the house was quite.

But, that being said...If anyone has a Make, Model and Year that they are interested in seeing, please...Feel free to list it and I will see if I can put something together.

right now, I tore a wall out at home and am redoing my dining area, and kitchen, adding a New Back door (new spot), replacing windows and building new stairs...while working full time and helping family with keeping their cars running.
Just finished re-doing my In-Laws House and got it on the Market.

Like most of Us, we sure could use more hours in a Day.

Again, Thats Responder, Sxk122, NoSloCoupes, Tom Mudd and Aquaticbob for the Kind Words. and Happy Holidays to everyone on GJ!

I LOVE this thread. You have an incredible talent - much of which must be patience! ;)

Have you said how much you charge for a rendition? I'd love to see a caricature of our 67 Galaxie Convertible with Mrs E-tek in/on it! (be nice... ;))

PS - your reno sounds very similar to what we did at out place - I just hope it goes "easier" than that tho!

e-tek...Hard to say, most of the time, I am starting and stopping on my drawings, due to being pulled in many different directions and my A.D.D. issue...Ha Ha!
but, doing a Car or Truck usually takes some time to sketch up and then do a Line drawing...(around 3-5 hours) and adding a person (guys are easier to Cartoon than the Ladies...They are more sensitive when they are turned into a drawing)...(Mrs. E-Tek seems to be OK thou)...Usually adds another Hour of two to the Drawing.
Even at a Low Ball Price of $10 an Hour...I would need to charge $60-$70 per Illustration and Im not sure if anyone would be will to pay that.
So, I havent done any in the last 30 years. Although I should.

1/2 Cup...Thank You...Very Much.

I'd be willing to pay that price (even more than the lowball price) to get some awesome drawings that can be blown up for the walls  I currently only have my own pictures up on the wall, and would like some other great car art work

I figured that I would add the last Christmas Card that I did (2014)
My Grandchild population doubled in 2014 (my Daughter and her Hubbies first) and (My Son and his wife's third)...and I have been tearing out walls, moving pantries, building cabinets, installing new floors and windows...
The Theme is "Big Family and Incomplete House" this year.

Man I would give anything to have talent like that.:bowdown: If you don't mind, I may copy some of these. I have an overhead projector and I would like to do one wall in the garage with artwork like this. Very cool. Post up some more if you would.:thumbup:

How do you transfer a drawing to a transparency????

Amazing Talent!

I would be willing to pay you for a couple pics.

You say an approx time is 5 hours x 20 per hour no problem. Your talent deserves even more . .

How do you transfer a drawing to a transparency????

Save the picture as a JPG. Get a pack of transparent sheets and run it through the computer just like you do the regular computer paper. You have to watch though which side is which as only one certain side goes up on transparency paper.

Then put it on an overhead projector and you're good to go.

KCAR.......keep posting up. I love the cars. I don't have room in this garage, but as soon as I get the addition on this Spring, I will be putting a few in there. I my do one complete wall with different hotrods, with your permission of course. My addition is going to just have plain walls, so something like those would go great on there.

I figured that I would start a Thread just to Show Off some of my Cartoons or Artwork.
I always loved Dave "Big Deal" Deal's Artwork (he designed the Armor All guy)
And of course...Ed "Rat Fink" Roth's Artwork.
Loved to draw ever since I was a little kid...and Yes, had and still have all my CarToons magazines!

I like to "Tweak" or "Bend" Muscle Cars, yet keep some of the features that make them so special.

I do this only as a hobby, because I usually am so darn busy these days...I even design our own Christmas Cards that get sent out every year.

I will add Drawings, Cartoons, Sketches for The General Viewing Pleasure!
Enjoy...

I'm only on post #1 and have to comment. Very nice work and something I aspire to achieve. I love to draw but my work is usually just doodles. What time of day do you usually draw? Do you draw in a book or single sheets? I would like to pick your brain once I get set up to finally do serious drawing.

I Love this Photo of a "Large Airbrushing" that I have.
Its Not my work...But 30 years ago, I worked in a large building in Chicago, and this was hanging on a wall (on one of the floors).
A Photographer took a photo of it and gave me one.

The original Air Brushing was 60"x60".
My Photo is 16"x16" and is framed under glass and Hanging in my Garage.

Sorry about the light reflections in the glass.
I wish I remembered who the artist was....

That's gorgeous. Finally took an airbrush class. Seems like I might have the coordination to do airbrushing. Another activity to find time for.

The Cobbler...Thanks for the Kind words.

TimewarpF100...Thanks...Love to Make money doing this. I have a feeling that One Day, when I retire, I will have lots of time to draw. (only 10 more years Ha Ha)

I usually draw late at night when its quite and the wife and Dogs are sleeping.

Thanks! Once I am done spending all my time Re-doing my House...(Building Cabinets right Now)...I will try and do some new drawings. (based on the Vehicles that you have asked for)
I usually dont draw too many that are newer than 81 or 82...but, we will take a stab at it.

My first attempt with Sketchbook. It was done on an iphone with my finger tip. I need to scan my drawings and doodles so I have them readily available.
