I am sure that I am not the first to use surplus office cabinets for storage. This particular cabinet was used to store computer back-up tapes in the 70's.

Ball bearing rollers! It was built with two dividers in each drawer. I removed some of the dividers and others I did not remove.

I found the seller on craigslist. $70.00 was a bargain considering the amount of storage available.

Show me your pic's. Thanks, Jim

I bought mine from a used office furniture outlet for about $80 each. There were about 25 to 30 to chose from but these were the only 2 that matched. I paid about $15 each extra because of that but I soon got over it. They are excellent for storing hardware, consumables, etc.

Mine came out of a hospital autopsy room. Each drawer came with a VERY heavy duty custom made filing rack. They at least doubled the weigt of each cabinet.

My file cabinets are not worthy...but I will post pictures tonight if I remember.
2-2 drawer cabinets, mostly full of catalogs and files (yes, files!)
4-individual cabinets stacked on top of each other-tool belts and pouches, bunch of other random stuff
1-4 drawer cabinet, top drawer has paint, sandpaper, drywall stuff, brushes

I just had a thread up similar to this.Looks like maybe the shallow drawers are a little easier to organize.Hmm....maybe I just need to tighten up.

If I build another shop I would find more of these and even 5 or 6 drawers high. They help me stay organized, and cheaper than anything (with patience).
