I'm thinking more like $500 max, but what's it worth in your area?

Need more info, like model or at least overall dimensions. Judging from the pics I personally think $1000 is a bit much (like quite a bit), maybe more like $400-$750?. However I ain't much into them new fangled ball bearin' boxes. :lol_hitti

" Bottom box with steal frame we made to put wheels to roll it around on! "

So it did not come with casters????? Sounds like a box designed for a very specific static use, or inset in a tool room, truck, trailer???

Kinda sounds like he put wheels on a side box.

edit: Or the seller is just special... 20x37" and 7 drawers match a KRA2007, but it's 20" deep, not wide, and it comes with wheels. :dunno:

I don't think that is an unrealistic price for that box. I have the same one with the matching top that i purchased in 2000. I did buy it through a tech school, but the quality is there. I have not seen a used one listed for less than $800 around here.

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...681720&supersede=&store=snapon-store&tool=all

Same here... I see them listed in this area for $800-1000 all the time, and they seem to sell pretty fast.

This box retails for $2000, so if it is the new model (made in USA vs. Canada), then $1000 is right in line with a starting price for like new used SO. $800 is probably more realistic for a mint condition box.

edit: NVM, mine's a 4107, this is a different model... the 4107 has the large drawer on the top. This version is shorter w/smaller casters, and isn't USA made.

I think the posters stating 500-600 are more in line now that I realized what model it is.

The seller can't use a tape measure. That box is 40" wide and 20". That is a kra 4107, the older had that drawer arrangement. I don't know why he added a steal frame, those have 6x2 casters rated for 2800 lbs.

I was gonna say the same thing.
That sure as hell looks like a 40" box in the pic. I've got a few buddy's that use them daily.

If 40 in. thats a reasonable price although I have seen quite a few asking $750-$800 for them in good shape for just the bottom roll cab in my area.

If the narrow 22" skinny box than $500-$600 max.

That appears to be a 40" wide KRA4107d. I bought 2. 1 for 600 bucks LOADED with tools. The other was 350 . He was asking 500. It was about 3 years old from a tech student wanting to get out of the business. I bought the matching 40" wide top box for 400 delivered to me two hours away, and the middle 3 drawer section for 200 bucks here in town. . All from CL. They are a dime a dozen. Wait for a good deal, or find one that is reasonable and then really see what they will take from there. Someone from the student program may cough up their price. That would be a good starting point to now what they have in the box.

Todd, do you still have all of them? I'll give you your money back on the center section.

Otherwise, let me know if you want to trade a couple of the 2" drawers for a 4"

Despite the fact I haven't actually filled the middle section, I can't part with it. That was a multi year search! Let me Trane a look and see about swapping the drawers out.

I can respect that, and thanks for at least considering the drawer trade.

Funny thing is, since reading this thread I have been scouring some of the local Craigslist ads and found the same box as posted above for $650 in Germantown, outside of Dayton.

I guess it's been a while since I have looked at the prices of these boxes, there seem to be several sets (top and bottom) that are priced at $1300.

That blue piece of paper on top of the box looks to be an 8-1/2" x 11" standard sheet of paper so if you scale that 8-1/2" length across the entire box it would be about exactly 40" wide.

I think $800 would be reasonable. I have a similar KRA top and bottom, but my bottom is a double bank. I bought them for $1000 and figured they were worth at least $1500.
