I've broken snap-on ratchets. I guess they're all junk too, huh? Or, maybe **** happens.

6.5 years of wrenching = 4 snap-on ratchet rebuilds, 0 broken Craftsman sockets.

See, I've never broken a Snap-on ratchet, my rebuild kits have been tucked away for what seems like forever, so mileage may vary, maybe it's the lube, ask Merkava:lol_hitti Anyhow my older Craftsman stuff has always been great, I am refering to the very late model stuff, I was shocked at the performance of the recent Craftsman offerings, My point was, Snap-on's cheapest can and seems to exceed CURRENT Craftsman stuff, and I'm sad to say that. I endorsed Craftsman for a long time, I hope this recent quality control problem passes. Meanwhile Snap-on's second class of tools seems to be a better choice at this time for basic hand tools.

Yep, and I'm saying I've had no issues with the late model sockets, they work fine.

As for blue-point being better...maybe, but I've seen no justification for it. The price is also WAY to high for import tools.

You wont find it for much better price. We had to wait 6 or 8 months for
them to get back in stock as it was... if you can get em for under $400, go
for it. Make sure you plan on how to store them too.

Thanks for all the advice. It is now a done deal. Interestingly, I was told they couldn't do it, both verbally and via email in response to my detailed email. The email to me was a total run around and made no sense. Forunately, I am quite familiar with consumer protection laws, which in large part are to protect mechants from unfair business practices and false advertising of competitors. My second email to them was a "lawyer letter". That got a response with an apology and directing me how to actually get a hold of a supervisor. When I finally got ahold of a supervisor she was very nice and corrected the problem without even reviewing the "lawyer letter". I'm satisfied but it was a matter of principle. I have to fight day in and day out with insurance carriers who wont honor their representations to my client so I just didn't want to be told I couldn't get what was advertised. (Not all insurance carriers are bad, just some of them) Yeah, everyone hates lawyers til they need one. Guys, stand up for your rights! Rick

dfndr, if you gave me a list of what you get.............I bet I would come in at 1/3 less or so. Maybe more. My brand is new, so you would want to order something small and inexpensive to start to see about quality. ALso check tool reviews for my customers comments. Just to give you and idea, every socket deep in 1/4 drive 6pt would only be about 14 bucks. 4mm-14mm. But rather me go further and have this seem to much of a sales call, just contact me if you are interested im getting a quote etc.

Craftsman/Sears has a no fuss warranty and stores significantly
convenient to the majority. While you don't even have an address.

So I did some digging;

What happened with KMS Financial Services? Or Wren Financial
Management? Or Wren Investment Management? What about
Northwest Investment Advisors?

As well, you've only been in business since May of 2008.

Also, on this forum, you tend to thread jack, which you've done again here.

No offense, it just sounds a bit sketchy/risky. Even for 1/3 off.

While a big comprehensive set like that can be mighty appealing on the surface, questioning whether you REALLY need that many duplicates in all drive sizes and socket depths (6 and 12 pt) is a valid point.

Thats not a very good argument, considering there are guys on here with drawer after drawer full of nothing but ratchets...
