Here is mine! It's 18 x 24 with storage upstairs. The inside is just rough studs and electrical is an extension cord. Hopefully I will get it wired this summer and then start to complete the inside over the winter.

This is my previous shop, which is now someone else's shop hence the new build. When we moved in the concrete (34x34) was in and the lower section was a chicken house and goat barn. Framing was done for 10' wall on the rest so I just joined it all together... On a shoestring. The wood siding is 1 1/4 thick cedar that a friend gave me. I trimmed it an installed as board and batton. Only the lower section was finished inside and insulated and heated to house the Model A. Made the doors out of 2x4 framing and t&G pine with some antique windows from the same friend.

Outside of ours for the moment.

We have a lot of tasks to tackle, both inside the garage and around the house, so any changes to this area will be distant if at all it seems. I'm pretty happy with the present form, if I were to change anything it'd be to add a bit more concrete outside the garage doors to ease turning around within the driveway.

I thought I posted a picture in this thread a long time ago, guess I didn't...this is my garage shortly after it was built, the shingle siding had just been installed.

Wow Stuart....that looks great!!!!

Did you seal the cedar shingles to retain the color, let them weather naturally, or paint them? I like them the natural color myself. Did you build the garage or have it done?

I had a company build the shell and I finished it out - I installed the windows and doors, built that big double door up on the gable end, did the shingle siding, electrical, etc.

It was stained with solid pigment stain to match the house. This is how it looks in the winter. :)

Nice thread. I must have looked at a few way early on and didn't follow it or look back. I see a couple low cost ideas I bet work just fine A couple of the re man jobs look really good and most are nice but I got to comment on a couple. Thumper, I had never considered this type of thing, was looking for ideas and in your case adding some features as time/money permitted would be easy all at ground level. Adding some windows come to mind.

Modern technology or even some hayseed engineering could come in to play, bargain vinal thermal windows on the ridge and simple louvers, shutters or sun shields in summer etc or turn in to reflectors or collectors.

Come to think of it I should could add some glass to my shop for a bunch of free daytime light.
