If you receive emails or PMs similar to this in reference to some of your classified items, DO NOT follow through with the deal. This "person" is trying to scam you.

I repeat, DO NOT give this guy any information - delete the message and move on.

Thanks,
BMWPOWER

P.S. - the message below was sent by userid "muzzo" aka "scam artist".... a bad one at that.

Hello

I am interested in buying the Air Compressor and Sandblast Cabinet that you have placed for sell now, and I would want to enquire about the present condition of the above mentioned, as well as some detail about you. I expect this timely enough.

As for the payment, I would need you to get back in touch with the last asking price as I will be paying with a certified cheque.

Lastly, please forward to me your full company's (or house address, telephone and fax) details as I will subsequently prefer reaching you through these facilities.

Yours interestingly,
Raymond Griffiths

Should you need to reply to me, Please get back in touch with your details to me at:[email protected] for a quick reply.

Just the very poor use of English would raise a red flag with me. This is obviously a foreignor. Sounds like some of the language in some Nigerian scam e-mails I get. Thanks for the tip though.:)

The scams from Craig's List may carry over here. Theyn get a price from you. They send you a check for more than the asking price. They email you and ask for a refund. You send a refund and 8 days later your bank tells you that you deposited a phoney cashiers bank check. It happens on Craigs list all the time. Be careful as previously stated.

Those Scams Are ALL Over Craigs List, I've Had Many Of Them From People Saying That They Are Unable To Come Pick Up The Craftsman Tools That I Have For Sale, & That They Would Send Over A Driver Or Shipper With An AUTHENTIC Bank Check, These People Send You Emails With Men & Womens Names Attached, So People Who Are Selling Items, Before You Agree To These People & There Emails, Ask Yourself, That If They Are Going To Send Their Driver Or Shipper, Why Don't They Have Their Driver/Shipper Come Over With CASH, & You Won't Hear From Them For A While, But Trust Me In Time They Will Try To Contact You Again With A Differant Name & Excuse Why They Can't Make The Drive Themselves, But Look Closley At The Wording On There Emails & How They Phrase Sentences & Spell There Words, Oh & Yes They Will Offer You More Than What You Are Asking For Your Item/s

Thanks
Rob
