I don't really care, I'm not going to use it for its intended purpose of hanging it but I wont get nightmares because its there like Merk either.

I like having the hole in these and in screwdriver handles. I like how it tickles the palm of my hand as my hand spins over the handle. I'm trying to drill holes in the handles of my tools that don't come with them so I can enjoy this feeling with all of my tools. :bounce:

I voted don't care. I do however see that this would be useful. In my line of work( stage sound and light technician) when we use tool above the ground (ie. on a ladder or in a man lift) we are required to have a lanyard hooked between you and the tool. I have one on my adjustable wrench. The hole makes it very easy to attach a lanyard to the ratchet.

Doesn't matter they work the same. Maybe it would matter if I ended up needing them for working at heights so I could secure them but at the moment it doesn't matter.

I voted no, I hate it when grease and grime builds up inside the hole. (and I'll never hang it...)

I voted don't care. They are good for those that hang their stuff, and eventually I may make use of them when I figure out some sort of organization method that can be locked up for my ratchets.

if you do it right and you let it harden in there you might be able to have enough dirt in there that it acts as a filler and theres no more hole :lol_hitti

I dislike that a screwdriver or a ratchet has to have a hole in the end, but I think a lot of the market that would buy them would also be people who may hang them up on peg-board in their garage.

I voted dont' care. However, I think it's a good idea. It won't hurt if I don't use it, and would be nice if I do want it. I've drilled holes in hammers, screwdrivers, etc. to be able to hang them.

Not saying that it can or can't be done, but why not replace the holed handle with a different handle from your favourite brand of choice?

I suppose if you had to, that hole could act as a secondary/primary means of adding leverage to a screwdriver or even to a ratchet.

BTW, my vote was "I don't care".

You don't have any Toptul ratchets Merk., so why does the hole bother you? I prefer non-comfort grip handles anyhow, the Toptul ratchets I have my eye on don't have the damn hole. IMO the green color should go, I never liked that green color on any brand. I can easily avoid the green by skipping the handle type. I don't see why the hole matters either way, just run a rag through it, like a wrench to clean it.

Maybe the hole is there for the tool polishers, you know, you can hang it above the head of your bed, instead of a cross or something.:bounce:

As i always say "Better to have and not need, than need an not have."

I find the lanyard holes in certaintools very handy when working up at height and such, like installing/repairing signs and billboards, because you can run a line from them to your belt and there's no chance of dropping something to the ground or losing it.

Why not have a hole in each socket and extension too? Put a hole in the pliers. Hell, let's put holes in all the frickin tools!!
