Sources for vintage SnapOn drawer slides?

I have a KRA 352 that I'm in the process of restoring and two of the slides are in less than mint condition and stick when you slide them. I've tried manipulating them in a bench vise to straighten things out but don't seem to be making progress.

Is there an aftermarket for these? I assume SnapOn itself no longer stocks them, though am happy to call them if I'm wrong. The slides themselves have no serial numbers or stampings but are 3/4" wide and 16 3/4" long.

Call snap on. Give them the code on the back of the box. From what they told me, they just discontinued slides for the first box they ever made. Slides should be available for everything else. Simply use the general dimensions and location within the box (drawer X from the top, etc.).

If you have truck service, ask the dealer to warranty them. Snap-on charged me for a few. I asked my dealer, and he brought me the rest.

No kidding, they still have these in stock? I'll definitely give them a call then, thanks very much.

Yes, I had contacted Snap On for my KR537/557 boxes. They were from the early 80's. If you can get the part number off the slide, write it down and it will help the folks on the other side.

The old stock box parts are probably not too long for this world, so get them while you can! For what it's worth they warrantied some and I paid for some. I don't have a SO guy, so if you do they may just take care of it. Enjoy your old school box, they are charming and look good in a home garage.

I went to their website under repair parts but it did not pull up anything, usually it does. I got all new slides about a year ago for a box made in 1976, so hopefully they'll have yours. Give them a call they're really helpful.

from the collectingsnapon.com web site, it appears that they made versions of that box (kra352, kra352a-f) from 1960 until at least 1982. there appears to be some updating going on. you might need to be able to give them the letter that may follow the model number on the back.

Some they still stock, others are NLA with no current substitute...
Use caution when buying used friction boxes.

Unfortunately they don't have any of mine any longer. Had a long talk with a nice rep, who went through the computer, checked similar /subsequent models etc and no equivalents are in stock either. He was apologetic but it's a 50+ year old box so no surprise. Guess it's back to the vise for another straightening attempt.
