a couple of other forums I frequent allow this after a certain number of posts.
on those my title is usually changed to "extremely large member"........

vBulletin has an option to allow users to change that - or at least did in previous versions - but it seems that most forums keep it turned off, for whatever reason.

Being an Admin for the largest sports forum on the net, I can attest to the vBulletin limits and also its control.
GJ has elected to give "Senior Member" to anyone with over 100 posts. Also, they have elected to make that title non-changable by the user.
"Senior" does seem to add age/experience to the user. Is it warranted? It seems that is up to the powers that be.
