Does Steve Magnante still show up on Hot Rod TV? In the Hot Rod/Car Craft empire, I feel like him and David Freiburger are the two car guys that I can really relate to. Magnante's "Junkyard Crawl" monthly feature in Car Craft is probably my favorite part of the magazine. I enjoy Jeff Smith's work as well (and he's a fellow Iowan!) but sometimes it gets a little too technical for a hobbyist like me. Anyway, that's mostly print journalism stuff, sorry to hijack.

As car shows go, somebody mentioned it earlier, but "A Car Is Born" is an EXCELLENT show. I used to get it when I had digital cable (it's on Discovery Home & Leisure, I think), and it is quite possibly the best "car show" I've ever seen. There are also offshoots, Bike is Born and Plane is Born---they show builds, lumps and all. The Car Is Born series documenting the rebuild of an XKE was one of the most interesting few hours of television I've ever watched. HIGHLY recommended.

Top Gear

SpeedTV does specials every once in a while (BMW M3, AMG, etc.) that are pretty good

I'm shocked that no one has mentioned "Victory by Design"!

Some of the footage of those classic restored and original cars being driven correctly by a great driver are truly art.

I hope they put them out on blue ray. I am pretty sure they were actually filmed and not taped so the quality should be there for HiDef.

I love that show as well. Also any show on HD Theater works for me. I used to love Speed as well until it became the monster truck/NASCAR channel. Spike's PowerBlock is also a great time for me on Saturday mornings. My only issue is after watching any of these shows I have strong urge to buy stuff.

There used to be a show called American Muscle Car or something like that, I loved it. And I agree that Jesse on Extreme 4x4 was hot, she's the only reason I ever watched the show.

That show was visually stunning. Fabulously cool cars being driven at speed. I've got to grab a couple of those dvd's.

HorsePower is ok but I liked it better Chuck Hanson.
MuscleCar seems to be all about the body and paint now. Liked Joe Santiago better.
Jesse was more than eye candy. Ian does a good job solo though.

TwoGuys is an info commercial.

All the shows assume you have a money tree out back.

Wasn't meaning she was ugly, she was more of an all around package, which is definately better in my opinion. . . . . aka girl next door.
