Another question for you: you said you picked this box over others because it has 20 drawers vs 16-17. Does that mean it is 3" taller than the others to fit that extra row of drawers in, or does it mean that all 20 drawers are less deep (tall) to fit the extra row in (if this makes sense).
I am outgrowing my box and looking into these 72" boxes so your experience is very helpful to me. |

Very nice!! I'll be paying great attention to this box.
Question: Doesn't HF have a 72" top box as well along with a matching side cabinet?

Yes they do. They also have a side cabinet ( about 67" tall) with a full door on it with 2 or 3 movable shelves and 4 or 5 drawers inside the side babinet. Harbor Freight is currently out of stock of the top and side cabinet so they can't be viewed on their website. {I don't know why but when they ell out or run out of an item it can't be viewed on the website until it is back in stock. I called and asked them about this.} Just keep checking regularly and they will be back up. I think this is turnin into a big seller for them. As I stated earlier, this is the EXACT same toolbox as the Torin box sold by Northern Tool.

Where do you get the 20% off coupon from? Is it a general coupon or specific to this behemoth? Nice score by the way

Popular Science magazine (as well as some other magazines) always have them in there. This month and last month have the 20% off coupons that are good for several months. The one in this months PS is good until 3/10/10 and you can use it as many times as you want (on one item for every purchase).

Can't do it. I've already asked. My local HF does not carry it nor do the stores in the surrounding 200 miles

I've called around. The harbor freights around my area don't stock it either. Going by the talk on this forum they would sure sell a lot more of these if they would simply put them in the actual stores. Someone should call them and tell them that.

Tooltrader, I`m relatively close to you, which store did you purchase the box from?
I`d also like to see in close up. John |

I just bought one from my local store. Someone ordered it and never picked it up. So they took it out of the box, put it on display, reduced the price and let me use a 20% off coupon. I tried to get more off, but they said they couldn't sell it for less than cost.

I'm glas too see someone else got the same deal I did (with 20% off). Here is the link to Northern Tool that has the exact same box for sale for a MUCH higher price. (They do quote some slightly different specs. but it is the exact same toolbox.) You can click to see extra pictures of the toolbox on the site.
http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...3086_200343086 I emailed the company in China that makes this toolbox and sells it (distributes it) through Harbor Freight and Northern Tool only. Last edited by tooltrader; 01-23-2010 at 09:53 AM. Reason: adding info |

WOW, it looks identical to the Torin box. I paid less than 1/2 of the $2499 Northern price including tax, and no shipping!

Yes they do, however, Harbor Freight has not carried it in a while and I don't know why. They used to have it in their catalogs and online but I haven't seen it in several months. They even used to carry a side cabinet as well. Northern Tool still sells all three but, of course, they are VERY expensive. Here is the link to Northern Tool so you can see them: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...orin%2Btoolbox
I tried calling HF but if it is not in the catalog they are clueless. Maybe you can call and speak to a manager or something. Since they used to carry them, they should know something about when they are going to get more in stock or why they chose to stop carrying them. |
