I almost forgot garagejournal and keeping you guys updated. My friend Michael finished all the final nailing with a rotary-air-nailgun. This little car I found siting in a field, found the missing parts, put the engine and brakes back on, lowered it, added some wheels and sold it again.

Great build, love all your cars.

I still regret not buying a Razor Ghia years ago when offered one for stupid money back in South Africa.

I very nearly had one of those Hearse trailers too.

I have just started building a Teardrop trailer, The hearse trailer would have been an alternative to it, but I wanted the kitchen bit too.
.
It is to tow behind my Ford Taunus Transit FK1250, which I imported from Germany in 2007.

Hopefully in August we will have a new house, with a garage that will take 6 VW Golfs.

I also have a 1956 Ford Anglia 100E , which I bought for Nicola, my best half, who I will marry in August 2010 as she is a petrol head too (Lucky me)

Here they are both in front of Nicola's place on the way to the www.medwaymonkeys.co.uk get together. Medway Monkeys is an ofshoot of Oldskool Ford and local, with great and helpfull people.

That is one cool Transit - aren´t those rader/randar wheels made for Volkswagens? Does the transit run 2x205 pcd?

The Transit is using adapters to convert it to VW pcd, read it in his thread on RR. Cool ride!

Hallo Gustav,Thanks , as mentioned below, the Transit does run Radars on specially made up Adaptors @ £330 incl the new wheel bolts, probably one of the most expensive luxuries on the bus at the price, but I needed them.
I have found a guy who made me a pair for £40 plus postage for the Teardrop trailer here in the UK as it is also getting Radars, so they can be made for less, I paid too much for the first ones :headscrat

The Transit runs 5x160 if I remember.

It is currently getting a Ford Zetec transplant by a good friend. :bounce:

My friend built a teardrop trailer a couple of years back. I helped him a bit with the design and holding steel while he was welding and so on. He did a really good job. I´ll find some pics for you. He´s a really clever fabricator. He builds trucks (lorries?) for a living.

I finally got started on the drywall. A local shop had the stuff on sale and I decided to do the bit behind the work area to be able to get the chequered tiles up. It just snowbaled from there...

I got the outdoor lights hooked in. It looks really cosy in there doesn´t it?
I also got one of my x-mas gifts installed - a brooks saddle for my 1953 Western Flyer.

Great build, I really enjoy seeing how it is done in other places.
Your aircooleds are sweet, I have a '71 Ghia and a '65 Bug in my mix.
The bike is way cool!

Wow. I like what I see. All your vw's are awesome. I think I have seen pictures of your ghia on the samba, I love the color combo, though I am a bit biased.

The panel looks real clean. Nice fasty and split window too. A while back I test fitted those wheels you had on that squareback, but didn't like them compared with the stock chomes with moons.

I really like the design of the exterior of your house and garage. They work well together. :thumbup:

Sorry if I missed it but how high are the ceilings in the garage?

Thanks for all the kind words - When I initially joined the Garage Journal the amount of v-dubbers here were close to none. Don´t get me wrong I like US steel to. But I would love to see some "high-dollar" v-dub workshops.

To me, it is all about the early type 3's. I have seen some of the late models done right, but i prefer the early ones much more.
Oof! Red interiors are sweet. If you don't already have plans for it, what about doing up the fastback with a red interior?

Its got a perfect teak interior and have very few miles on it. I think it would be blasphemy? To me the early models are also the coolest.

Gustav...signed up just to say nice build,we are into similar stuff,here's my old smoker

and here is the motivation

When I finish my housebuild I will be renovating my 20x30,already have the base in for a clean room to keep the oval 20x15...so I can build a Ghia,here is my old one back in '89(I am an old geezer)this is a scan of the 65 at bug jam

Yes I follow a blog where youre club is regularly mentioned.

The frost is gone and I finally got the tiles up over the worktable. I decided to use no grout as it will always be bone dry and I avoided cutting a single tile. It fitted perfectly beneath the cable housing.

Nice build and fleet. I have a '62 DC, '65 Westfalia (pop-top) waiting resto, '67 Westfalia (hard-top) interior donor, and '66 fastback. Only the fasty is operational. The DC was in a horrible head on while my wife was driving. The event has permanantly tainted the hobby for me, but I still can not get rid of them. I have a love/hate relationship with them. We had many great time in them though. We went to Bad Camberg '03 and had a blast, even getting up to Amsterdam for the one day meeting at a awesome shop there...forget the name.

Wear your 3 pt. seat belts please! I have some pics that I'll post when I get home. Again great looking shop...but how could you not build with a lift in mind??

Building materials and labour are extremely expensive in Denmark.
You also has to pay taxes according to the value of your property.
People can´t afford huge garages unless they really, really want to.

Gustav, You have a beautiful garage and a great collection of air cooled rides. Your panel is sweet. I have inherited my family's '65 Split that is now in my garage to restore. Before I can fully get into the tear down, I want to finish my garage floor to keep from staining the concrete. Thus, I found GJ and now, thanks to garages like yours, I will have to redo my garage before I can do my bus justice. You know how one thing leads to another, to another and to another... But thanks to GJ, the ball is rolling and someday the bus will be too...

I am interested in your cabinets with the pull-out trays. Do you have any more pix of how you use them? That looks like a creative idea to solve storage problems.

None of the wrecked one. Actually it survived fairly well for a glancing head on. I'll put some up of it in it's better days if I can bring myself to look at it again.

Not a lot of progress in the garage this summer. I did however get this little used cabinet done. Its about the same age as the cars. Now I finally have a dry but dustfree place to keep the really nice bits. I used some old paint and had some hardened glass made up for shelves. Lights were sourced from our old kitchen.

It's a very nice garage/workshop Gustav. I've never been to Denmark, but I still have to drive my Saab to Sweden one day.

I Like your VW's. I never saw such a Nice Karmann Ghia before. It's rare and I like it a lot. You've polished your Fuchs wheels? I liked the old black look on those Fuchs. Your Ghia looks a bit like a Corvair. Sorry

, but I like the Corvair's looks with twin headlights and I don't like the normal Karmann Ghia (round/girly) nose. This is a guy's car :thumbup:
