Sooooo my truck REALLY needed oil and the hood was REALLY stuck, so the situation called for drastic measures. Upon reflection, it may have been more beneficial to cut a hole around the latch mechanism so I could fix the problem at the source. Hind sight is 20-20, though. Duct tape saved the day and made my truck look way cooler than before. Enjoy.
Yes, it took two tries. Its probably better than you could have done.

Theres my oil cap! It's so handy to not have to go to the trouble of popping my hood now.

Also if I didn't fix it, I would have still had to cut above the oil cap and that's just a lot of holes.
