ID this old compressor

I picked up this old compressor really cheap and need help with the ID. The only plate it has is the one on the motor. Here are some pics.

The green reminds me of a speedaire.

I thought so too but i cannot find one that looks like this one.

Yes, Speedair, but I think De Vilbiss used the same color.

Oh yea and on the other side it has "Model" raised letters and under that it has "A-9"

Air compressors are components. The motor, the pump, the tank. All from 3 different manufacturers. The most common ID is on the tank in the form of a decal as riveting a nomenclature plate on the tank would be really stupid. You may find the tank manu plate welded on the tank with a date.

So, if it get repainted, it gets tougher to figure out who sold it. I have found outlines of decals painted over on several machines that led to the discovery of what brand it was.

Old line cast iron pumps were made by Quincy and Kellogg American. But, they could be bolted up to a tank and called Binks or many other names.
