I'm getting ready to pressure test my pex before I pour the concrete. How much PSI do you guys put on it for the test and for holding pressure during the pour?

The mfg for the tubing and manifold should give you a number, if not I used 60 psi according to the Wirsbo manual I got with my manifold.

Shouldn't you use fluid in the pex tubing plus about a amount of air pressure to keep it from floating in the pour? This is what I have always heard and read. then is pressure is lost, you immeadiately stop the pour and find the leak and repair it!

The county required 100 psi test before the pour so I left it at 100 psi before, during and after the pour. I did not add any fluid to the system.

75 psi air for about 3-4 months. Took my time hooking in the radiant floor system after the pour. Pressure never moved the entire time.

I pressure tested it to 70 psi last night. One of the biggest pains was getting the right fittings to hook up to my air compressor... I knew what I wanted, but to find it at Lowes or Home Depot was painful...

Once I got all the fittings tight, I checked with the air on and sprayed it with a soap solution. Sure enough, I found a few more places where the fittings needed to be tightened.

I finally got it all to stabalize and it held 70 psi the whole night. I called the inspector this morning and he came out mid morning and gave me the "pass" sticker.

that was a good milestone for me!
