So, I saw these on sale for $19.97 and figured they'd be a nice birthday present for the old man.
I just got them in today, and while the box and sockets are beautiful, there's a problem: I received two of the 1980s, instead of a 1997! I'm wondering if I should even bother calling Sears customer service and trying to get a replacement, as these are from 2004. I'd hate to have one odd looking chrome socket in there... Or maybe some GJ member has one they'd be willing to sell to help brighten a father's birthday?
Also, you can't see in the pictures, but these aren't even stamped USA! In fact, there's no COO at all as far as I can tell. I'll be miffed if my "vintage" Craftsman sockets are chinese! Anyone know for certain?
