I'm pretty excited about my latest tool acquisition. I had a porta-power kit when I was in construction but sold it before I moved West. Now that I'm settled and have been building early Fords there's been a few occasions that I could've really used my old set. However, none of those instances was such a serious need that'd force me out to buy a new set-up.
When I noticed the kit below on a local classified site, I kept my eye on it. The man wanted $150 at first but after a week, maybe two, I noticed he dropped his price to $125.
I've been spending a bunch on our house remodel and wanted to be responsible, so I continued to pass. But as I returned to the classifieds every so often, I'd see it was still posted.
So, a few days ago I got a wild hair to send the seller an email. I offered him $80 (since that's what I had in my tool/hot rod parts fund at the moment) and wrote that if it didn't sell perhaps he'd consider my offer. And, if he thought I was nuts, to disregard me. Hahaha.
Two days later (today), he gave me a ring. We met up shook hands and exchanged cash and parts. He was a nice guy, he said after he read my email that he "would've taken $50" but not to "press my luck."
Enough of the blabbering, here are the pics.

It came with TWO pumps rather than one (as I was expecting). One does need to be rebuilt. It's about 7-10 years old but in overall good, used shape.
