Well, here's the latest edition to the garage. I still need to raise the ceiling, put vct down on the floor and do a nice coat of paint on the walls. But I doubt that will happen anytime soon as we have a 15month old running around and another one on the way this summer.

Here is my 2-car. Still has a long way to go but it is where I hang out and listen to tunes and play with the Vette. But, it is getting there.

Sorry for the delayed replies, work and shed stuff has kept me out of the house.
![]() Thanks for the compliment. (It looks a bit messy to me, compared with some of the other garage 'installations' posted!). The roof is corrugated colorbond steel sheeting. The inside is lined with Foilboard, an insulation sheet that is two sides of foil bonded to a polystyrene core. Easy to put up and doesn't sag. Yep, the shelving comes from their "Home Organisation" range. It's all a nice heavy gauge metal, and the shelves bolt to the brackets so it ends up very tight and solid. I'm not sure if it's all galvanised or nickel type plated, but the finish is excellent. The storage shelves are actually made with a mesh insert, (so the dust can fall through!). The wooden boxes are theirs too, quite sturdy. They also have galv iron boxes with lids. I first looked at a local supplier of industrial shelving, beautiful assemblies, but oh so expensive. Comparing what was around, the Ikea stuff is good value for money. |

All these garages make me want my house so much more! The DARN flooring guy has put me off for two weeks now! GRRRR This morning we fired him and are trying to get another guy to pour the floor. It is going to be a 22'(deep)x26'(wide) so it should be a decent place to work until I get my shop some day with 13' ceilings.
I'm fucusing on organization right now. What is a good economical way? I'd love to get a bunch of Lista 60" wide cabinets but I don't have thousands of extra dollars. I have a decent two piece Craftsman cab. but I'm almost full and I'd like to get some of the large items like wrench set, air tools, and tap & die set out of there to free up space. I'm thinking picking up some "old" kitchen cabinets from a remodel and using those. What do you think? ________ WEB SHOWS Last edited by 99E36M; 09-14-2011 at 06:32 AM. |

I got kitchen cabinets in my garage and I love them. Sure they are not as nice as some of the cabinets that some of these cats have but they work great for my garage.

I'm drooling. The Tuffs look kickass on it. Closest I got was a used JMC in '92. I was 25 at the time. Prior to that I rode Mongoose.

I like the Falcon. Can you tell me more about it. We never got that 2 Door version here. I like the offset badge on the hood / bonnet.

Hey HOTFR8,
My bird is a 60' that was originally a 144 6 cyl with a 2 spd Ford-o-matic. Wasn't long after I drove it home that all that had to go. I have since put all new V8 suspension, 302 V8 with a C4 auto. The badge was from a Escort to give it a little more modern look. Currently have the paint stripped off and finishing the body work getting ready for paint. Here are some more pics. ![]()

Looks great, but you need to get the bench grinder off the shelf and mounted to a post or bench so that you can put it to use, it is one of my most used power tools!
![]() Fact is with those posts I would mount a secure little shelf to the post and put it there! (A time honored way of mounting them in many old shops!) |

I purchased a 100 year old house a couple of years ago. I have 3 teenage daughters, so the first renovation I did was to the garage. Me and my buddy Sam Adams needed a place to hide.
