Default I just bought a new Snap-On toolbox!

Or rather, am leasing it.

The box itself is 16 feet long.

On a 2012 Kenworth chassis.

I pick it up on Tuesday and start loading it the next day.

Thanx! It was not an easy business decision to make but now that we've signed the paperwork, I'm ready to make it work.

I leave for "boot camp" next Saturday and will be on the street June 11th-if all goes well.

Hope you have a good and populated route.

I know of dozens of ex tool dealers, me included.

I was well aware of the route before I considered it, it's geographically centered around my home. The last guy wasn't working it very hard and I have already identified numerous prospects he never even bothered to call on.

Our debt load is pretty low (well, it was before yesterday ) so I can make it on little to nothing.

When my local route opened up, I figured it was a risk worth taking.

Remember, customer service. Could be a $10k sale or a $10 sale... treat your customers the same and make a fantastic impression. Your $10 sale may turn out to be a $10k customer later on down the line.

GL!

Best of luck to you and I'd like to echo what was said above about customer service. The ones that you least expect to buy anything are sometimes your best customers down the road. treat your customers well (within reason) and they'll treat you well with their wallets. Same as any business in that respect I guess.

Rest assured if we'd gotten the truck when we were supposed to, there would already be pics posted!

I may be 50 years old, but dammit, I just signed my life away (and my wife's) and I can't have my truck until next week? WTF???

Sometimes, the little boy in us all comes out, eh?

Congrats on the new venture. I'm doing something with a 2010 Peterbilt but not tools. Just bulk water. we will see how it goes.

Just don't be too pushy. It's one thing to introduce a sale item, or special. but to pretty much shove things in your face. The guy would always come, not really make conversation, basically just ask what i'm going to buy. Kinda threw me off and didn't make me want to spend time on the truck. Sometimes I know just what I want, sometimes I take a few minutes just to look around and shoot the shit.

My route is centered around Churubusco, Indiana, about 15 miles west of Fort Wayne. A fairly good city and a bunch of smaller villages with lots of manufacturing, plenty of repair shops a coupla airports and LOTs of farms.

To a great extent, I think my personality is well suited to it. If I've been able to sell Land Rover parts and services for the past ten years, I can sell tools.

Now all you have to do is put that on your profile so people don't have to ask!

Congrats, I've thought about doing the same thing, but that's a pretty hefty investment, I just couldn't swing it. Good luck to ya and dont forget the little gifts at christmas (Matco gives us nice jackets every year)

How about a pair of socks???

In the past ten years, I've deducted more than $140K in "perishable tools" purchases from my taxes.

I've spent some time on the tool trucks

come to think of it, I've damn near bought a truck already!
