Default Janitrol gas furnace

Looking at purchasing a home built in 1912. House has Janitrol gas furnace, thing looks like a relic by its design, but from what I can tell it is pretty clean. does anyone know how I can find out how old it really is and what their life expectancy is?

The serial number tag should have the manufacture date stamped on it.

I have a similar unit, it was installed in 1967. Runs like a champ still. The heat exchanger is the heart of the unit, so just make sure thats in good shape

if you go back to the house get a picture from the front inside with panels removed. Show wiring and gas valve. If the manual is laying there it will have a printing date on it too.
